Hey all,
Im on day 3 now. Wanted to see if anyone was on the same day or around me. My goal for p90x is to become more defined being that I am skinny already. I'm 5'11" 162 pounds 23 years old. I figured I better start p90x b/c i stopped playing handball when summer ended and got into the nasty habbit of playing video games and then going to work. it's funny cuz you think your in shape and then after disc 1 reality sets in that your not because you struggled mightily to get through it. It's shoulders and arms for me today but man are my triceps killing me from day 1. I hope I can get through it.

hey, i started at the same time as you and have arms, shoulders, and ab ripper today as well. I guess we are both doing the classic workout. i'm pretty sore.

My height is 5' 9". I weight 162lbs too, but am looking to drop my body fat, lose my gut, and get to around 150. So i have been taking in around 2000 calories a day so far, mainly protein, and carbs before the workout. Does all this sound alright to you?

Today was my third day as well. I am 5'10, 190. I am trying to drop down to 175 and mostly just tone up after having to quit power lifting. Hope everyone is enjoying the program as much as I am!

Hey fitnessnoobie, nice to hear someone in a similar situation as me. I'm fairly skinny too, always have been. I do have a little bit of extra fat around my gut that I would like to see go away. We have somewhat similar physiques from your pics. Good luck with it and keep in touch. I think that you'll have no problem seeing results seeing you are already toned as it is.

This is day 10 for me and my muscles haven't stopped aching. All I can say is "keep pushing play" and stick with it. Like you said, your already lean so you'll probably see fast results in toning up. Wish I was in your position. lol.

This is day 3 for me as well and my legs are still aching from plyometrics from day 2! We just gotta keep hitting play, and I think that's the mind set we need to follow. I ordered the recovery drink and performance bars last Friday and hoping to see them hit my door way soon. I think they'll really help with the soreness.

I personally started P90x because I've got a a small amount of body fat that I'm trying to lose. Not to mention I'd also like to get in better shape and make smarter choices diet-wise and health-wise. I've just recently come from 1 1/2 rounds of P90, which for me was the first real active lifestyle change I've made in years!

Anyway, it's late here but I hope to hear more from you guys as it's always easier to stay motivated when your keeping up with a group.

Hey fitnessnoobie,

I'll be just one week behind you. I haven't done any workouts this week so far, but will but doing three of the resistance training for the remainder of this week, and then get on the full routine next week. I did one round of P90X and lost 20 lbs. doing it, but it's been a few months since I've been active (yet I've still lost another 10 lbs...). So now I'm guessing I'm at 6% bf, 5'6", 132lbs. I'm going straight to the 'endurance maximizer' meal plan, with a heavy focus on gaining mass (I can't loss more weight or I'll start looking malnourished).
Supplements are ordered and on their way...let's press play.

It looks like you also have a low bf%, but with some nice arms, shoulders, and upper back. What phase of the meal plan are you starting with?

Let's get in great shape!

Man was that 3rd workout tough. Got through it though without pressing pause once. The ab ripper x was a different story. I failed terribly at that haha. Today is yoga people. Lets do this.


For people who wanted to know my diet plan is 2000 cal a day with 162g of protein a day spread out. My whole life I have been skinny. I have the metabolism of like 3 people. I can't even gain any weight even if I eat so bad. However I know it will catch up with me one day thats why I want to make a change now! I also want to get ripped. Thats something I also never have been in my life. So those are my goals with this program.

I'm with you, same skinny guy who want to have some bulk once in his life. Yoga was a joke today, couldn't do as much as I would have liked, but ab ripper killed me.

Man and I thought this was going to be a rest day! I was sweating so bad after like 20 minutes! Some of those stretches and balancing moves I couldn't even do. Just remember what Tony says guys, "Do your best and forget the rest!" Off to work, see you guys and gals tomorrow!

You did ab ripper with yoga? Don't you have to wait everyother day to do ab ripper, so your abs heal properly? Also, i'm always hungry like 2 hours after i eat, with a 2000 calories diet. Should i increase the calories?

my name is fitness noobie for a reason lol. So nutrition wise I can'T really tell you much. As for doing ab ripper I'm probably going to suggest that you should wait for the day it comes on the dvd and not to rush it. If I remember correctly towards the end of yoga they really challenged our abs too.

I would suggest keep with the planned diet in the Nutrition Guide. They know more then we do!

Yoga I heard sounded easy but was actually really rough so I didn't expect a free ride. Let me just say I can't balance as well as I thought I could. My arms were shaking during and after all those Downward Dog/Lounge moves. After the first 30-40 minutes it really lightened up and gave me time to really work on form.

Not sure what to expect tomorrow, wish you guys best of luck


BTW I got the Recovery Drink and it tastes amazing! It helps alot.

I don't actually have the guide, i just have the disc set, but someone told me the guide recommended 2600 calories, which seems like a lot, so i made a deficit. I'm not dizzy or anything, just really hungry, and i can't not get hungry for longer than a couple hours.

Did chest and back today with ab ripper about 3 hours later b/c I had to go get my car fixed. I feel great. I thought I pushed myself, but I don't feel as sore as the other days. Does that meen I didn't push myself as hard as I could've or is that just the recovery drink finally kickin in?

Hello:

My story is that I am 52 years old (and still have trouble believing that fact) and I'm about 20 pounds overweight at this point, 164 lb, 5'8". I have ordered but not received body fat calipers. Using a Navy formula body fat estimate calculator I have 26.9% BF. This is categorized as obese. Twilight zone. I was always skinny until graduating college. With a desk job I put on a few pounds but nothing too serious. At 40, I got back into good shape, still skinny, but 7% BF. I stopped exercising enough, and ate my way into my present situation-mostly bakery goods. My doctor recently put me on cholesterol-lowering medication. That, and the mirror, made me realize that I most likely have a food addiction. I have been eating well for the past month and just started P90 X.

I grew up participating in competitive sports until around age 15. that is one reason I find it difficult to accept my present situation. I am now on day 9. I was very sore in all areas so I took two days off after first six to recover a little more. I passed the test to do P90X but not by much.

At this point, I cannot complete most of the exercises. For some, I must perform an easier option when doing an exercise. For example, diamond push-ups. I have to do those off my knees, and can only do three, with a few additional partial attempts.

I have gone on too long, but wanted to provide enough information to see if any others are in a similar position.
