P90X or P90X3?
P90X or P90X3?
2/26/14 11:19 AM
I'm into my 3rd week of P90 and it's at the perfect level. It challenges me, but isn't way above me as the insanity workout is. I was wondering if after I'm done with P90 if I should move onto P90X or P90X3? Does anyone have some good advice?

Thanks!

Jeremy

Well, this depends on a few things, and the biggest thing depends on what your goals are.

P90X workouts are about an hour, P90X3 are 30mins. I think you are going to be working harder in p90X3. They are advertising the same results in half the time, so I assume the intesity is turned up. I completeed P90X 1. They are difficult, but there are breaks, and it is not exactly crazy for a full 60mins. I think you are going to be going balls to the wall for 30mins with X3.

Another thing to consider is t25. This will help you get your endurance up. It is kind of like Insanity Jr. So if you think about it like this, you are knocking off the rust and lubing the joints with P90. T25 will help you drop any left over body fat, and then head to P90X3 to apply the finishing touches. T25 will also help you get to the endurance level to be able to get the most out of X3.

Then to really kick it up, after you are completlty leaned out with X3 and have some good strength and tone. Then move to Les Mills Pump to put on 10-20 lbs of all muscleThat comes out to about an entire year of fitness. Next Christmas, people wont even recognize you!!

Both P90X and P90X3 are great programs and give awesome results. I would have to say that it really depends on your situation. If you don't have ~1 hour a day to workout, then P90X3 is for you. They have similar themes, but P90X3 has a little more variety thrown in.

Hope this helps and if you have more questions, I'd be happy to help anytime.

A lot depends on your goals. P90X works body parts, P90X3 is a lot more geared toward functional fitness. What that means is P90X has a lot more lifting and pullups and you'll build more muscles. P90X3 has a lot more core and balance work and explosive moves geared toward sports. So if you still play ball you'll want that type of stuff. If you just want a good mix of resistance and cardio the original. Time is a majoe consideration for may. Do you have time for P90X? If you have questions or want more details I've done both (in the last block of X3 right now but I've done all the discs).

I think X3 is a good transition from P90. It is not as tough as P90X and it's only 30 minutes. BUT if you want to get into awesome shape now and look great, P90X is the way to go.
