I am getting ready to start Insanity. I have been reading about it online and on the boards for a while - why are there mostly men on the program and few females ... trying to find before and after pics from women and there aren't many. Women ... speak up and let me know you are out there and this is doable for all of us, too! emoticon

I just finished the first 4 weeks and it is definitely doableemoticon I have the "recovery" week coming up and then start the final 4 weeks, which I hear are way more intense.

The workouts are very hard- you just have to listen to your body and take breaks when you need to. I just try to push a little harder each time I repeat a workout and it has made a big difference.

Sorry I do not have any pics to post (camera is broken). I also failed to take any measurements on day 1. I did finally think to measure on day 9 and over the course of 19 days I have lost 1 inch from my waist and 1/2 inch from my hips. Lots of people have made comments to me that i look like I have lost weight and I can't believe how much better my clothes are fitting! I have not weighed myself recently so I am not sure how much, if any, weight I have lost- that will be tomorrow at the gym. I will come back and let you know if my weight has changed at all.

I like a challenge and these workouts definitely fit the bill!

Thanks for the reply! Is Insanity your first workout with BB or have you been working out for a while when you jumped on the insanity train?

Hi Fit- I borrowed P90X from a friend about 6 months ago. I was in between other rotations I had already scheduled, so I only had 4 weeks to play with it. If I remember correctly, I used it the way they lay out the program for Phase 3 in the Classic version. So I used each of the weight workouts twice and cycled through most of the other workouts a couple of times too. I don't know if I could have stuck to a 90 day program with the same 12 workouts... but you never know until you try! I think I might try it some time in the future. I have so many different "plans" already waiting for me to work on. Anyhow, to answer your question, Insanity is the first BB program I am really following.

I have been working out consistenly for about 5 years now (and not so consistently for years before that). I have used combinations of different at-home exercise videos (weights, cardio/step/kickboxing, kettlebells, yoga) as well as following programs from books (NROL, NROL4W, BFL, etc.) and putting together my own programs based on all of the knowledge from the previously mentioned sources. I also like to run outside, perform interval cardio programs on spin bikes/ellipticals/treadmills... the list goes on. I like to keep things fresh and new and I am always "mixing it up."

Well- I hope I didn't ramble on too long! How about you- have you done any other BB programs? What else have you done/are you doing?

I just started Insanity and I'd love to join you! This is the first time I've ever done a home exercise program. I used to do lots of outdoor activities, run everyday, and lift weights- but lately I've been too busy with college and work to stick with it.

The fit test and the first workout were awesome. I really like being able to jump into an intense workout without having to waste time commuting to the gym! I'm really excited about getting into great shape again.

Hi- Just wanted to update from my post the other day- I have lost 3 pounds in the first 4 weeks of Insanity. I am not even trying to lose weight, just lose the fat! As long as I can lose inches and the extra padding over my muscles, I will be very happy. I must say that a lot of this has to do with nutrition. Since I started Insanity I have really been watching my eating and have tried hard to avoid junk. I have not really followed the nutrition plan, but I have been eating very clean and I think that is a major key to success with this or any program.

How did your first day go?

Hey all! Thanks for posting and sharing! I am looking forward to the partnership to get thru this and Sandwoman - your thoughts as you are ahead of us!

I have done Beachbody programs for years - I have almost all of them - but I seldom follow one start to finish. I just use them as fillers from my weight lifting at the gym or getting on my treadmill or stair stepper. I am planning on following insanity to the end with nothing else.

I totally agree - losing inches and weight is 90% what you eat and the workouts burn the fat and shape the body.

I better get to bed - I do have a long day tomorrow - start at 4:00 a.m. and won't be home from work until at least 9 p.m. so if I don't post I will be back Wed! Tell me how you did on day 2!

Hey ya!
I am sold out for insanity. I just watched the videos for it and read a little about it and was sold out. I am getting it in the mail soon, and will let you know about how my first month goes! I am not really looking to lose weight just some inches, but my great passion is to get healthier again, and tone everything. I have kinda let myself go after coming home from living overseas, and taken on some unwanted weight and lost aaaaa lot of muscle. Stoked to see you girls going insane with this workout, and good luck.

hey girls...kinda late for me to join a thread but hey, better late than never. i'm on day 3 of my month 2 workouts and i LOVE it even more than i did in month 1.

a little background about me...i'm an ex-collegiate athlete, been playing sports (mostly softball) most of my life, along with years of workout experience...i'm a 21 year-old junior in college (i had to come home after my first season of softball in oklahoma due to injury)...i was doing p90x til around day 60 which is when INSANITY came to my door so it kinda took the front seat, so i decided to delay my p90x...but, i plan on starting up p90x again TODAY actually, along with REVABS which i received in the mail this weekend...so i'm excited. emoticon i had fun with p90x in the past, i'm sure i'll have jus as much fun this time, considering INSANITY has put my body back in collegiate athletic shape emoticon woohoo for that.

and don't worry!, i know it sounds like a lot, but i know my body, i'm used to this kind of activity and it aint no thang emoticon no problems with energy levels. i'm loving it!

as i said, today is day 3 of my month 2 workouts...i did Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs this morning before work, it was fun fun. when i get home this evening i'll be doing p90x chest and back followed by revabs- day 1 for both.

hope to hear back from you guys emoticon keep pushing play!

Hi Ladies, I wanted to join in on your thread also. I am in week 4 and while i've only had 2 lb. weight loss I think I'm changing my body fat ratio. I am definitely building muscle. I did notice that I am able to hang in there a lot longer and my form is getting better. I am scheduled to wowy at 8:00 a.m. eastern time and I'm projected to finish INSANITY on Dec. 27. I hope to post before and after pictures once i'm done.

Hello Everyone!!

I just started the insanity workout. I did the fit test lastnight and then the first workout this morning. Already a little sore. A little about me. I love playing sports. I play softball in the summer in Oklahoma. Just got done playing flag football. I try to stay in shape because of my knees. I'm not in great shape right now. Working on a cattle ranch keeps me going but I want to be in better shape. I hope insanity gets me there. We will see how this week goes. I will keep posting.

Hi everyone! OK- I just finished week 5 (Core Cardio & Balance) and here is how it is going:

I am going to be traveling this week for Thanksgiving. Since I am packing for slightly warmer weather than what we have this time of year in Ohio, I was trying on some of my shorts that I wore this summer... and they were too BIG! I could not believe it- I felt I was in pretty good shape for the most part. I knew I had some extra "padding" going on, but it wasn't a huge amount- only about 5-8 pounds heavier than I am now. The shorts I tried on were so big that I could get a few pairs on and off without unbuttoning them. Wow! I was able to fit into a few pairs of shorts and capris from 5 years ago. Now the key will be to keep these results permanently by somehow working Insanity in with other workouts. I should not jump ahead so much as I still have the 4 weeks of MAX workouts ahead of meemoticon

I hope everyone had a great week and weekend. Not sure when I will get to check in here since I will be traveling- but I wish you all a very pleasant Thanksgiving. So glad I don't need any equipment for Insanity so it will be easy to do on the road.

psizzle8: Tomorrow I am starting my recovery week. I think I'm going to add 2 weight workouts. I am very happy with myself that I made the decision to commit to INSANITY and have "as they say, Month 1 in the books."

Towards the end of the year is always a difficult time for me to control (stress, stress and stress) but now I have a plan and have all my workouts logged into wowy from now until the end of December. I am now focusing on meeting my nutritional goals. I think I haven't been eating enough on the program.

I'm excited to start month 2 but I know it will be brutally insane!

Hey Alicia, glad to hear your shorts were big on you! That is awesome! Have a safe trip and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey All! I am still here - things have been insanely busy at work. I already get up at 4:00 a.m. every morning WITHOUT getting a morning workout in - leave at 5:30 and get home about 5:30 every night. Then have to get dinner for my boys ... I know everyone has "challenges" - does anyone have any ideas for me? I have always been a morning workout person when I was working out before - but that was when I had a different job and didn't have to leave as early as I do now. I am so frustrated with myself!

You guys are doing awesome - keep it up! With Thanksgiving this week I should be able to be more consistent - I am a teacher so I will get a few days to gather myself together!

Welcome to all who have joined us - anyone else out there that has started or just starting - hop on board!

Just wanted to stop in and say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Fitfanatic maybe with a couple of days off you can get in a few workouts.

The INSANITY cardio core and balance workout is really effective. Getting used to exercises and love every minute of it. I noticed there is one girl on the video in the back with a hat on. I think her name is Angelique and see if you notice that she is doing the Heisman's incorrectly. She's actually doing a Debbie Siebers move from the Slimin6 vids.

Anyway, hope everyone enjoys their day.

Hi Ladies:

I finished my second week of Insanity and I have a question. When you get your flow, do you notice if it affects your workouts? Usually the first two days I'm very fatigued and I get the usual cramps and migraines, so I do not have the energy to work out. Do you still work out, especially with a program like Insanity?

I just want to know what your experience is.
