Get rid of the Goo!
11/17/09 8:30 PM
I started on Monday 11/16, so I am on my second day. I am doing p90x lean first, then going to hit it up with classic, then I hope to tackle the doubles. I am very excited to bring it! and push play!

I have been overwieght since highschool (15 years now) when I stopped swimming and playing sports and started video games and movies and hanging out. I balooned up to 260lbs. I suffered from depression and my mood swings due to bad eating and poor self image cost me my marriage. I have since been through therapy and feel great. I feel like I have organized myself inside, now I need to get where I want to be on the outside. I will post pictures tomorrow so you can all see where I am starting from.

I look forward to all your support and to be able, if only in a small way, to help make this journey we are all taking together a little easier. =)~

My goal for the first 90 days is to get down below 200lbs. I started the program at 240.0. It is my ultimate goal to see my six pack for the first time in my life. Any assistance or advice will definately be useful.

Thanks!!

JD

Hey! I started P90X Lean on Monday 11/16/09 too! I hope we both succeed and see great results. I was debating between doing the Lean and Classic. I finished Cardio X today. How did you like the workouts so far?

Goodluck!

The workouts are intense! I definately am sore the day after and I definately have a harder time with some moves more than others. After each workout I look like I took a shower, I am just drenched! Which is exactly what I want, to push myself. It may sound corny, but when Tony says, come on everyone lets do one more, it helps me to keep going. Definately keep my posted on your progress!!

Just finished up Yoga X for the first time this morning. Man I felt silly! I was falling all over the place. Definately going to be easy to see improvement with that one. Only 2 days left this week then I get a break. Cant wait!

If you're not sweating, you're not bringing it so good job.
I used to go thru 3 T shirts in a workout and cooldown.

I think that after you get thru your first month, you might consider going classic.
It replaces a cardio workout with an extra day of weight/resistance training and I think its effective for guys.

If you're lifting hard and heavy you'll lose as much if not more weight with classic because all the weight days are Cardio also. They're just cardio under the duress of load (weights)

Watch your diet and WO hard.

Thanks for the message mike! I like that suggestion of jumping to classic after the first month. Do you think I should start at part two of the classic or start at part 1? Definately appreciate the message and the support!!

I am looking forward to starting week 2. I am going to bring it!

Results from my Sunday wiegh in:

Starting wieght 245.0

Week 1: 240.3

thats 5 lbs!!! I am very excited, didnt know what to expect, but am very happy with the results. Look forward to seeing what happens in the weeks to come. I will be posting on here each day to help keep me on track, posting wiegh ins every sunday and pictures every 30 days. 7 down, 83 to go.

FYI, My goals for the first 90 days are to get down to under 220 lbs. I am very happy with my success thus far and am loving getting my butt kicked by Tony and the Kids!

5 lbs is better than my first week so good for you.
But a word of advice. Don't sweat the scale. You'll have good weeks and bad weeks and sometimes not know why.
But if you eat right and workout everyday you'll do well, and I'll bet ya meet your goal and more.

As to when you should jump into Classic, I would actually consider doing it week 3 of Phase 1. That one week will be followed by your recovery week and help set you up for 3 weight days a week in Phase 2.

Watch yourself doing pullups.
Nobody tells you that if you're heavy, there's a pantload of weight on your shoulder joints.
My method is to put a plastic milk carton BEHIND my feet, put my toes on it and do a lot of assisted pullups.
Work to failure on all exercises and you'll have results.

Thanks for the great advice. I will finish up this week on lean and then make the jump to classic for week 3 and 4 and then phase 2 and 3. I will definately keep you posted with how things are going.

Thanks again Mike for the advice and support!

Keep Pressing Play!

Did Yoga X today and was able to do most of the workout. I fell at the end of last week and have had to skip a few excercises because of some soreness in my ribs. All and all I am still doing 90% of the workouts and should be 100% soon. I love the intensity of the X!

Bring it!

Did my Sunday wiegh in and am down to 238.2, which is just over 2 lbs down from last week, which is really good. I thought I would maybe lose some but I have definately gained so much strength, increased my reps on all excercises this week.

I skipped my saturday workout and went snowboarding all day for the first time in my life. It was awesome! I had planned on doing Saturdays workout today, but I am sore. lol.

As suggested by Mike I am going to jump to the Classic workout starting Monday morning and finish the last two weeks of phase one and then stick with if for the last two phases.

I will keep you all posted on my progress. See you all next week!!
