I am just finishing my first round of p90x - lean, I have 4 days left!! And it has been an awesome ride:-) But I still have belly fat (my biggest fitness issue). I did great doing the work outs and have improved tremendously in strength and flexibility, but would like to see more fat loss and that 6 pack...(I joke with my husband that I kind of have a 2 pack). So my question is what next?

I know I can be honest and say I was not 100% committed to the nutrition plan, so I need to do that...but do I do round 2 of p90x - classic this time OR is there a better fitness program BeachBody offers to help loss the "belly fat" and then go back to another p90x round. If there is a different program I should do, do they have a nutrition guide to go with them or do I stick with p90x's version??

Thanks for any advise....this is the best I have felt and I feel I am so close to getting rid of the baby fat from having kids (they are 8 & 12!!) so I want to find that next step and bring it!!!

I think you'll see better results with Classic... but did you get good results with your first round? You could also consider Insanity if you feel you're up for it.

THanks...I did get good results...but not all I was hoping for....the more I read the more I think it is diet...even though I am good...I am not following to a "T" so I am going to now...just wondered what is the best program to follow for focusing on removing belly fat!

There's no program or no way to focus on belly fat. You can't spot reduce fat. You have to continue reducing your overall bodyfat, and eventually it will come off the problem areas.

The most important part of fat loss will be diet. Follow the plan to a T and make sure your calorie intake is correct. If you do P90X again, you will see better results doing classic.

Thanks for the thoughts....I think I will do Classic next time and stick to the diet!! I read on a couple posts that you should take a week or two between rounds of P90X. Is that true?

Hi Kathy, congrats on finishing your first round of the "X"...

Yeah, you should let the body rest AT LEAST one full week (while eating the same), I did one week after my first round, then did 2 weeks after my second round of the "X".

Classic is awesome, there's an extra resistance workout in there and then there's lovely PLYOMETRICS....Muuuuuuaaaah! emoticon That one will burn some calories emoticon

Woman carry more body fat (bummer) so it usually takes us a little longer, as Mr. Tony has said...so go get it in the next round.

And like If6was9 said, abs showing is all about the diet, we all have the six pack, its just the fat is covering it. So try to really get the right foods/calories (for P90x) correct.

BRING IT!

As one of the coaches on the boards has said. "Do P90X and be in the best shape of your life. Do P90X AND follow the nutrition plan and you will be in the best shape of your life and look like it."

It is all about the nutrition plan in terms of losing BF%. I find I need to track every calorie to make sure I stay on target (I keep stopping losing weight due to UNDEREATING - body shifts into starvation mode).

If you liked lean, you could do it again. Classic is a bit more challenging and may help you build a bit more muscle - which burns more cals even when at rest)

Thanks for all the advise. I have started round 2 of P90X and this time Classic...I am also determined to learn to eat the right way and follow the nutrition plan.
