(Insanity) BSE formula and some cutting diet questions
hey, uhm would you guys happen to know how accurate insanity's basal energy expenditure formula is? i mean there are a few formulas out there for calculating one's bse.

im 5'9" 170lbs

it said i needed 3,159.62 cals daily, while on insanity to maintain weight. so -500 is 2,659.62, which i supposedly need to lose weight. but i find that i cant handle actually eating that large(yes its large for me lol), since my daily calories amount to 1,900 - 2,300. but im eating clean, getting my cals from natural and home made food.(also following insanity's diet plan).

so my main question is, do i have to INCREASE my calories to 2,659.62 so i can lose weight better? coz ive read that eating too few cals may lead your body to go on starvation mode which would lead you to lose less fat.

sorry if it was kinda long, but i hope i get some answers.

thanks!!

It's accurate as any formula like that can be -- but it provides the info for an average person and everyone is different, so there are always going to be people who need to experiment a little and find what's right for them.

1900-2300 isn't insanely low, so I don't see any issue with giving it a go. If it works, you'll know. If it doesn't, you can bump up.

Well, I do think you should eat more, but after years of fighting that battle, I'm finding it better that I just let people figure it out for themselves unless they're eating at an unsafe level.
