So I started out my p90x journey very enthusiastic and motiviated, but unfortunatley I lost this mindset somewhere along the way. Sometime in the second phase I started getting busy with school and work. There where many days where I could not find time to workout, and my eating schedule got all screwed up and I ate foods not on the portions list. Therefore, with four weeks left, I am seeing some results, but not the results I planned on seeing this far into the workouts. My question to you is:

Should I just stop now and start over or keep going and then start over in a couple of weeks?

Also, when I do start over, should I start the nutrition plan over from phase one, or continue from phase three?

and What exactly are processed meats? I've been eating lots of chicken and tuna for lunch and I am becoming bored with them. Any suggestions for other proteins I can eat.(I usually have egg whites for breakfast)

Thank you X 1,000!!

From About.com:

Processed foods have been altered from their natural state for safety reasons and for convenience. The methods used for processing foods include canning, freezing, refrigeration, dehydration and aseptic processing.

Processed meats might be some of the worst of these foods. Eating these meats may increase your risk of colorectal, kidney and stomach cancer. Processed meats include hot dogs, bologna, sausage, ham and other packaged lunch meats.

Some of my favorite sources of protein:

Whole roasted chicken from the local deli. Comes out to around $7.50 for 5-6 protein servings, no cooking needed and it's delicious.

Fish, especially tilapia. Much tastier than canned tuna, super lean and some of the best proteins you could take (absortion percentage in the 90's)

Cottage cheese. Friendship low-fat is by far the best tasting and has the most protein and least carbs per serving, enough for me to use it as a protein soure even if the P90X diet doesn't include cottage cheese under protein. Eat it it with sugar-free jelly, nuts, peanut butter (love it!)and it's like eating dessert.

Shakes: with one cup of skim milk (1 dairy serving) they taste 10 times better than with water.

Shellfish (mostly shrimp): Nothing but protein.

Roast beef: Super lean, and as with all red meats it is a great natural hormone booster and creatine source.

Eggs: I leave one yolk (which by the way, yolks are packed with nutrients and good fats) and count its calories towards my fat or snack servings. Your scrambled eggs will be twice as good. Substitue one or two eggs whites with fat-free cheese, throw some veggies (mushrooms), maybe some lean meats, and experiment with condiments (I add salsa for huevos rancheros). Tasty!

My favorite dessert:

1 cup of Friendship low-fat cottage cheese
1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup of skim milk (makes cheese easier to blend)
1 tbsp of Jello sugar-free chocolate pudding (so few carbs that they're neglible)
1 packet of splenda
Throw into a blender, pour into cups, refrigerate. Makes a delicious chocolate pudding that is nothing but protein! (about 2-3 servings).

I would plow through the next four weeks and finish up your round. Take a week off and start a new round with new focus. If you have work or school issues, maybe make a hybrid schedule with some of the workouts when you can fit them in and then when you get more time do the full 90 days.

Id also go with the nutrition plan from phase I.

One of the issues people have with eating healthy is monotony, especially for lunch. There are tons of stuff and variety for dinner, but there is going to be some monotony. Lucky for me I don't mind eating the same stuff over and over.

Also for the guy above me talking about eating tilapia, Im pretty sure Ive read there are some issues with farm raise tilapia and the over abundance of certain fats. Id google it, there are some articles out there about it. I tend to stick with salmon, mahi, and swordfish.
