How will I skip pumpkin pie?
How will I skip pumpkin pie?
11/25/09 12:02 AM
So Thanksgiving is around the corner, and I just finished day 10 of P90x. I still have a long way to go, but I am already seeing results and I feel great. BUT! I have no idea how I a going to stop myself from eating pumpkin pie. It's my favorite! What to do about the Holidays!?!

I have always been told that one cheat day every 2 weeks or so is fine. I have never used a cheat day, but I will say one day wont destroy your P90X Results come day 90. But you cant do this every day or you wont see the results. I'm going to eat turkey and maybe some mashed patatoes, being in P3 I can use the carbs lol. GL though just dont let this one day destroy your diet and you should be ok =D

Just don't eat the WHOLE pie! emoticon

Have a "portion" size, eat it slow, and enjoy it...then send it home (the rest of it) with one of your guest, so its not in your house, and its just You and the Pie at home...at night...alone....oooooh.

Portion control...portion control...portion control...

Enjoy your holiday!

and keep up the great work!

Natalie,

I asked my coach the same question, the core of his response was -- go ahead and have a cheat day, it is much better than very small cheats on a regular basis. The ide, as I understood it, was to keep sugar levels even plane and cheats get us in a rollercoaster of sorts. So one up and down was better than a series of small ones.

If you are going to have pie, might as well enjoy it -- I am. Then right back to clean eating.

I guarantee you that I will be enjoying Thanksgiving this year. Think about it this way, you could be eating the pumpkin pie without P90X. At least this year you will be burning it off faster than ever before.

Have a good one.

Hell, I have a cheat meal every sunday.....reasonable...but definitively cheating and I have lost 35 pounds in 53 days......I don't think a day of reasonable indulgence is going to kill you.....as long as you remeber to keep it reasonable and you keep to the diet otherwise. Me...I'm eating my normal daily meals and will have a bit of turkey, gravy and mash potatoes on Sunday for dinner.

I've found great recipes at hungrygirl.com that takes the traditional turkey day foods and greatly reduces the calories. We're having pumpkin pie that's only 133 calories per slice!

Ok I did it! Only one thin slice of pumpkin pie, and it didn't do anything to me! In fact, I lost a pound the morning after Thanksgiving! Hope you all enjoyed your meals. Back to clean eating, until Christmas? emoticon
