RE: Help...need a pull up bar option/idea.
There is literally no door in my house that can work with the P90X bar or other similar products. We have a old house with very thick doorways and tall molding. Anyone else run into this? I REALLY WANT TO DO THE PULL UPS. I need other options. Ideas please?

Thanks in advance!

p.s. Just started Day 1 of Lean today so I need to move quick.

You could try any of these:

1. installing a permanent bar in the basement (you could make it out of iron piping like plumbers use)

2. you could purchase a "free-standing" pull-up tower (this is what I use) at your local sporting goods store. They are about $100 or less.

3. you could use the BB bands with the door attachment

I had the same problem or door frames are to deep. Just build your own, see Self-made Home fitness stuff. Search for "Chinup". Don't ask me about the site, I just found it via google.

I build the pull up bar with the 3/4 pipes without the 45degree nipples for wide pull ups. It works like a charm. I just cleaned up the metal and sprayed it white. In europe it was more expensive, but under 80 Euro.

Klaas -

We can't allow external links like that. I cut it. I know it's lame, but in a way, this is competition for the product we sell. Sorry!

okay, I understand this and your product would be better if it would fit. I have your pull-up bar at home and it does not fit in my doorway so I had to build my own. It was a hassle so I would recommend to buy I pull-up bar and only build it as a last resort.

If anyone needs an option for this write me a PM and I post the link.

@bbadvicestaff: I guess that this is okay?
