portion control and minimizing damage are the goals on the holidays.. BUT, there are a few times per year when it's ok to let down your guard. If you eat clean 90% of the time, having a treat like a small slice of pie isn't going to kill you.

Tony's 5th Law of Fitness is Reality. Life happens. During a ski trip last year with him and several other great people, I was reluctant to give in and have dessert one night. I'd been through 3 full rounds of P90X already and was solid at 5% body fat. Tony said "You're in great shape, you workout hard all the time. Remember we do this to live, not live to workout. Enjoy life."

He's right. It's funny how so many of the offhanded comments he makes have such depth.

Enjoy life, just be smart about it.

Look. After your 4th plate of food,...... back away.

Really. PHawk said it best. Live a little and then just jump back on the wagon.

Ya, I completely agree with PHawk. You're allowed to enjoy food. Just keep things in moderation. Thanksgiving is infamous for convincing people to eat to excess. Just keep it within reason and go for a walk with the family before hitting the dessert.
