21 day FIX food not on list questions
I am starting 21 day fix today. Is there another list of foods that we could go by that wasn't included in the book? I want to make something with tomato sauce but it isn't on the list. Any idea what container group it would be in? Thanks!

Hi fantazy10! Nope, pretty much what is in the book is what was planned for the eating plan as the goal is to get away from any processed foods or foods with lots of ingredients. That being said, Autumn has "spaghetti with meat sauce" in the restaurant guide as 2 yellow (spaghetti) and 1 red (meat sauce). If your sauce is simply tomato sauce, without a bunch of added sugar or preservatives, then do you think it would make sense for it to fall into the green category? If your sauce does have a lot of sugar, you'll want to skip it.

Hope this helps! Best of luck with 21 Day Fix!
Tracy

Thanks. I was thinking maybe that would work. I don't want to use a lot of sauce just enough to give flavor emoticon

Thanks for asking this question! I was wondering the same thing, because I spotted a really yummy-looking recipe for vegetable lasagna on the front page of teambeachbody.com that I wanted to try, but it didn't give the 21 Day Fix breakdowns. I appreciate the info! emoticon

I have answers for you from our nutritionist who created the 21 Day Fix meal plan. Low-sodium canned tomato sauce (not pasta sauce) has been added to the meal plan and counts as a purple container. If your broth is nonfat, low-sodium, and about 10 calories per cup it's a freebie. That doesn't mean have as much as you want, but feel free to cook with it or use it to make sauces. I hope this information helps you plan delicious healthy meals.

Is there anywhere we can go to see what has been added to the container lists? I made a note about the tomato sauce in my book, but I would like to see if there are anymore updates to the foods.

I'm having trouble using the beachbody meal planner with the 21 day fix because they do not have 21 day fix measurements. For eg, I know that 2 eggs equals 2 large eggs, but what does one cup of egg substitute count as?

I made that one, so delicious! I just counted it as green container and blue for the cheese

1/4 cup of egg substitute = 1 egg so 1 cup of egg substitute equals 4 eggs or two red containers. Hope that helps! emoticon
