Gosh, I feel like this message board will lend so much support & motivation over the next 6 weeks....god knows i am going to need it. Well, a little about myself. I just turned 20, I've always been in great shape...but they weren't kidding when they said "be aware of that freshman 15" For me, it was more like the freshman 25. Through highschool I was very active with sports, work & such...& then came college with lots of down time, & alcohol of course, oh wait I think im supposed to say I never drank while I was underage...scratch that last comment;) But, hey it was a good time...minus the 25 lbs. I'm 5'3" & 135 lbs... So, here I am to try this program out & hopefully have some great results! I would love some workout buddies...or just someone to banter back & forth with about how sore my entire body is!

Anyways, I should probably get some sleep, good old 8:00 am workout then class all day. This very well might be the death of me.

Goodluck everyoneemoticon

Hi, allie! I just finished my first week back to SI6. I've done this program multiple times, and had great results. I have since let all that slip and now need to build it all up again. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I too was in very good shape at one point (having been a dance major when I was your age). Then I changed my major (quit dance). This is when my first weight gain accured about 15 pounds and my success with SI6. Losing most of the weight and alot of inches. Then, I slacked off and gained the weight back. Then, I moved out of my parents house and got married, and it all fell apart from there. No will power + a hubby who buys tempting snacks = 20 lb weight gain in 2 years. I'm 5' 2" 150 lbs, and want to get to around 125-130.

Looking at your height and weight, I would think your main goal is to get fit again. I would take measurements and use that to determine how well you are doing.

Good luck! I'll check back in with you later!

Ya, I also have done the program...a couple years ago back in highschool. I think I made it a couple weeks & just stopped. & those damn hubbys...always have to be bringing home nice things, shame on them! haha. You will definitely get back to 125-130, my goal at this point is to get back to 115-135...I just get so discouraged in the beginning. It seems the first week of working out I am just ridiculously tired, sore & I always weigh more than before I started...given its all the water intake & such but it still feels discouraging knowing im working my butt off...but the scale keeps creeping up...

The only time I ever lost a substantial amount of weight was when I didn't have a scale, maybe I should get rid of mine haha. Oh well, I just got back from good old school, better get to ramping it up before the roommates decide to invade my workout area.

Good luck with the SI6 you can most definitely do it, just remember 6 weeks really isn't that far away. I just have to keep telling myself that!

Day didn't go as I planned, but hey ramp it up complete at 11:25 pm! It went surprisingly well, a little shakey in the arms towards the end...but otherwise I am feeling great, sore..but I get the impression I am going to be sore fore the next month & 1/2. Homework always seems to get the best of me, so happy I did the workout though, I was very tempted to just go to bed...but gosh, i think the times I don't want to workout I always feel the best! Hooray, can't wait to wake up & start day 4 tomorrow. 38 days to go!

See everyone tomorrow! Keep on pushing playemoticon

GAHH. DAY 4, COMPLETEemoticon It feels so good to be done, and at a decent time today too! I keep working out at 11:00/11:30 PM & then can't fall asleep until 4 or so, so I knew I had to get this work out in early! RIU is already getting easier, & it was day two! I didn't have to take a break once, but I was struggling with the leg lifts/resistance band. I can already tell I am getting stronger, the first day of SIU I couldn't get half way through the time allotted for push ups, now I can get through the whole minute or so. Next week I am going to start running everyday as well, I figured I'll gradually add in new goals with each week, In the past I've realized if I try to do everything all at once I get overwhelmed & discouraged. This week, just stick to the videos..next week start running, the following week I really need to start focusing on what I eat!

Its funny, every night I go to sleep excited to get up, work out & mark an x off my calendar, & log my workout in the supergym. Never thought that'd happen!

Keep on keeping on everyone & goodluck!

Hi, Allie! Sounds like you are doing good! I didn't get my workout in yesterday. I had a migraine in the morning, and it just lingered all day. So day 1 of week 2 will be tonight. My diet yesterday wasn't the best, but atleast it wasn't a complete train wreck.

I know how you feel about the scale. I'm considering having my hubby hide it from me b/c it can be very discouraging. Also with this program people see most of their results in the last phase. So as discouraged as I feel, I try to keep telling myself that BIU is what's going to do it for me.

Good idea by changing a little at a time. I did weight watchers for 2 months. Once I felt like I had my diet under control I decided to start working out again.

Week 2, gosh I can't wait for week two, congrats! Yesterday I surprisingly kept my calories under 1500...I do well when I keep track of what I am eating from the beginning of the day...if I write down everything at the end I realize "oh wow, I definitely ate way more than I thought" so I am just going to have to tote my diet log around with me if thats what it takes.

The scale surprisingly hasn't been a big problem for me...I just feel good that I am getting up & working out, so i am not too concerned with the numbers..now. IN a couple weeks if its not budging I'll probably have a minor meltdown haha.

Keep up all the hard work & thanks for checking in on meemoticon

As for myself...today is DAY 5 & I just finished ramp it up, sort of...just as i got to the ab work my roommate woke up to tell me all about her night & i got side tracked. I've got to finish my homework & head out to my classes, so I am just going to do slim & limber & ab work when I get done with class before work.

Today is going to be a ridiculously long day, good thing the coffees brewing.
yay for day 5emoticon

Hey! I did my workout yesterday and today! The diet was pretty good. I can feel that I'm getting stronger. I have to step closer to the handle that I'm holding for shoulders and biceps. The floor work is also getting easier. All in all, I'm feeling great! Hope you are doing well!

I am also doing great, did RIU today...which I really did not want to do, so happy I did it thoughemoticon I went out with the girls...ate too much, drank too much...but hey I can't always be good!
Thank goodness tomorrow is an off day i can tell this past week really has gotten to my muscles...I don't really feel sore anymore, just very exhausted. I can feel the burn in my legs after one set of stairs as opposed to a few flights now a days it seems.
Oh well, 5 more weeks!
week one: COMPLETE.
Good luck with your next week of work outs, keep it upemoticon

Alrighty, here with week two! I can't believe I have made it through a whole week. I decided to weigh myself today & do measurements, I definitely didn't expect anything at all its only been a week, & I did not focus on my eating habits last week.
Well, I lost 2.8 lbs & 4.3 inches, ALREADY! So, exciting...definitely keeps me more motivated. I was happy I took the measurements because I can visually see the changes. Definitely a much needed instant gratification. I am going to get up, brew some coffee & RIU I think I will also do Slim in six pack today. We'll see what I am feeling up to. Happy Martin Luther King JR Day everyone! Now get to working out!

Allie- Congrats on your week one results! That's great! Good luck on week 2!

I wasn't feeling RIU yesterday, so I did Turbo sculpt instead. That was a great workout! Two more days of RIU left, then a rest day and on to BIU! I can't wait to do BIU, it's the phase where a start to see results. I haven't seen much change yet. I've only lost about 1 pound and I didn't take measurements till friday. I'm just going to feel good knowing that I am getting stronger.

yay for BIUemoticon I can't wait until I am there...I feel like thats when I'll finally start seeing some results. I can tell in some of my clothes they actually fit a bit looser, which is crazy for a week & a half but hey I'll take it. Ya, I have stopped getting on the scale...& I'll just do it every monday along with some measurements...because it seems the scale isn't the greatest judge of my progress! This week has been pretty rough, I get up at 8:30 to do RIU, class from 11-2 then I have been running from 2-3, I work from 4-10, then homework..& it seems im in bed around 1 or 2. Its wednesday, but I have a feeling by friday I am going to feel super burnt out!
gotta keep on pushing play!

That's a hectic schedule! Mine would be that crazy if I was in school and had homework to do. I get up at 6:30, drive an hour to work, work 8-4:30, drive an hour home, workout, make dinner, clean up after dinner. Then I get to relax around 7:30 or 8, if I don't have laundry to do. I usually get to bed around 10. Sometimes I get burnt out from my schedule. Mostly from the driving I think. It can wear you down.

I actually just finished my degree (did it and worked full time), and after I was done that, it was time to get back to working out. I desperately need my 8 hours of sleep, so I didn't workout very much while I was taking classes.

Today is the last day of week 2! Friday, it's on to BIU, and I can't wait!

How did your first day of BIU go? I hope wonderfully! I havn't been online in a couple days..i've been so ridiculously busy this week. I didn't work out thursday...so I decided sunday won't be an off day. But, I did ramp it up on friday...then today (saturday) I had to drive 10 hours round trip to my little sister cheer competition so needless to say, I didn't have time to work out today either. So now I am stuck...tomorrow I think im going to do RIU twice to make me feel better about skipping two days this week. I figure, thats 6 RIUS for the week...& i've ran a couple times this week so Ill feel better about myself haha. I definitely need to get to sleep though if I intend on working out twice tomorrow...I just got back home. Gosh, such an exhausting day.

So, I finally found my battery charger & took my before pictures. I had no idea...what the extent of not working out had really done..until I looked at the pictures. If thats not motivation I am not sure what is. I am thinking i'll be posting them after I have the after pictures, a little too embarassing for me now im thinking..

Allie, I wouldn't do RIU twice in one day. Just shift your schedule down a day. It'll be 6 weeks 1 day. emoticon

BIU was good! Unfortunately I've attempted this program so many times in the past that after a couple of days I get really bored with it. By my third day, it wasn't as much of a challenge as I'd like. So, I'm going to do a round of Turbo Jam, and then probably move on to ChaLean Extreme.

I never took before pics this time around. Maybe I'll have my husband take some tonight.

Okay I definitely didn't do RIU twice yesterday, thank goodness. I did BIU for the first time today, I don't see how you can get bored with it..man it just kicked my ass. My legs and arms havn't felt this dead, ever. I actually just ran a half marathon the first week of december...so I've considered myself in pretty decent shape, no way not according to BIU haha. I weighed myself did measurements today...which was sort of discouraging. I gained .4 lbs...but lost about 2 1/2 more inches. I have a feeling this week the weights going to start falling off, especially with how intense burn it up is..& it being new. I also am running 4-5 days a week for about an hour....so, gotta keep on working out. good look with the chalene extreme & turbo jamemoticon

Well...BIU will get boring when you've owned the program for 6 years, and have memorized the workout. I've been on and off SI6 for 6 years! And I've done some more intense programs in the past year so it wasn't as challenging as I thought it would be. When I decided to start SI6 again, I thought I was more out of shape than I really am.

Don't worry about that .4 pounds. You might be retaining water or something. You probably are in decent shape. It's just that BIU works the muscles differently than you're used to. Good luck this week with BIU.

oh I understand now....6 years on the same program, may get a wee bit boring. I was bored with RIU over two weeks. BIU really is kicking my ass, I am so sore today. I just finished my workout, I am thinking by monday I'll be golden...this week is already proving difficult. I can tell I will probably lose the most substantial amount of weight in this week since its new...then it'll sort of plateau after this, but thankfully i am not that concerned with weight anymore, I can tell I am getting stronger & I really am starting to see some slight definition in my body, which is super exciting! Especially to think four more weeks..1/3 of the way done! hooooray. good luck with whatever program you're going through this week. Have you thought about doing p90x?
