Jessie's "FIT by the 4th" Thread.....
Showing 11 results.
I'm back again and I swear I'll stay this time if it kills me. I need to lose 74 lbs and want the off by my next birthday which is Nov. 10th. I want to start trying for #3 but w/ my first son I ended up w/ preclampsia right at the end of my pregnancy and had high blood pressure w/ my 2nd son from 28 wks on and was on bedrest. Both pregnancies though I went in to overweight. This time I want to be at my best weight and hope that makes a great difference in my blood pressure, but even if it doesn't, I will at least by in the best shape if it does act up again. I know my thread title is "Fit by the 4th" and while I know I won't have lost all my weight by then, I am hoping to at least feel a lot better about my weight and myself in general by then.

But I need all your help!!! I have done this so many times, I can't even count!! emoticon I need help w/ nutrition. Some just because I am not the best at picking out the best foods because of hidden bad stuff such as sodium, carbs, etc. Right now I'm doing a lot of Smart Ones frozen meals and Jimmy Dean Delights for breakfast, but I think I'll just start making my own eggs and stuff in the mornings, to save on money, but we'll see. I love fruit, but right now being in WI isn't the best time to get it, so I have been eating a lot of oranges. I am pretty good about veggies or at least liking them, need to start eating them more though. I'd love a menu to just follow or even help w/ building my own weekly menu because I just don't have the time or patience to do daily calorie, fat, etc counting. Just ends up too time consuming and doesn't get done, not to mention I'm not always the best at judging my portion size. I also need to work up a workout routine so would love help w/ that as well. I have several Turbo Jam DVD's, a few others, as well as an eliptical at home. In a few months (probably not before April, maybe May) I do have a bike a bike trail I can go on. I am just sick and tired of this extra weight and I want it GONE!! I want to like what I see when I look into the mirror.

So anyone want to join me?? Whether our goals are similar or your just looking for someone for support, I would love to have any and all who want to join me in this thread.

32 yrs old, Mother of 2 wonderful boys, hoping to TTC next Nov or Dec

Hi Jessie! I just had my second and i hear you on needing to lose the weight. I have about 50 pounds I need to shed! I too ended up with preclampsia at the VERY end of my pregnancy. We're talking about the day I gave birth. It was really high they were worried about seizures! Anyway, that whole thing is over, thank goodness! I am pretty good with nutrition and can offer advice in that area if you need it.
I noticed you said you live in WI and fruit right now isnt readily available. May I suggest canned or frozen? They are still good for you =) You could buy canned peaches (either in light syrup OR pear juice) and have that with cottage cheese for breakfast. You could also make a smoothie with the frozen, but they are also good on top of stuff, you just need to thaw them a little first.
Im waiting for the go ahead from the dr to start exercising (although, Im tempted to start early), but I can still help you out. =)

Thanx Tellis. Congrats on the new baby!! I'd love the advice and support and you can join in w/ the weight loss and exercise whenever you are ready. I always forget about frozen fruit, but I do love it. I love it in smoothies or even just to eat. I have at least a few bags of raspberries in the freezer yet from summer and some apples too. The raspberries are plain, but the apples do have some "mix" in them, as I think my mom made up the bags so they'd be for pies, but can be eaten plain too. I know I'd have to be more careful when eating them, but they'd still be good right?? I didn't get oranges this week because they were $.50 each!! I did get strawberries (if they stick around long enough for me to eat them, my youngest loves them LOL) and blueberries too. Any suggestions for a salad?? I love salad, but I also love dressing and I'm a ranch gal and can't stand the lite. I have tried the spray ones and they aren't too bad, but any other suggestions?? I used to like Italian and would even get the Fat Free, but for some reason can't stand it all anymore. I know that is a good way to get in veggies. I do drink a glass of my youngest's V-8 Fusion which contains a full serving of fruit and of vegetables in the morning w/ breakfast. I do drink 1 diet soda per day, (used to be more) and I know that isn't great, but I have to have my caffeine or I get horrible headaches. Otherwise I drink water, tea, and occasionally flavoried water. I'm not really a milk drinker, but do like yogurt, ice cream (love the Skinny Cow sandwiches) and cheese so do get my "milk" too.

Hi ladies,

I would love to join this group for motivation. I started Turbo Jam on Jan 26th and this is my official end of week 1, I lost 6.6 lbs. My goal each week is too lose 2lbs. I have been doing beach body off and on for the last 7 years, I know it works if you stick to it (that is my problem) I love the turbo jam workouts, as I look forward to doing them some of the other programs I find a little boring if doing for too long.

We could each post what we eat each day to give each other ideas.

B: 1/2 cup Kashi cereal, 1 cup 1% milk, banana
S: apple, one cheese string
L: Big salad, with chicken, tomato, carrots, celery and rasberry vinegrette (love balsamic too but higher in cals)
S: 1 red pepper and a cheese string
D: 3 oz porkchop, lipton side kick (1/4 cup), 1/2 cup brocolli, 1 serving becel

Planning on doing Turbo sculpt and ab jam today.

Welcome Lori. Glad you have joined us!! Congrats on your great weight loss!!

I really started yesterday, so this is my first week. I kept letting things get in my way last week. emoticon Can't do that though or I'll never meet my goals. I bought Jillian Michael's Fat Burner and Calorie suppliments and am trying them this week. I don't notice too much w/ the Calorie ones, so once they are gone (its a sample pack so enough for 6 days) I probably won't buy more, but we'll see how I feel about the Fat one at the end of the week. Next week I might try a Cleanse Fast I saw on another board too, that is 7 days long. I have been doing pretty good w/ my eating each day, although probably went over a bit yesterday, but today feeling fuller, so maybe the Calorie ones are doing some good. Today I'm right on track. I am planning to Cardio Party 1 today as soon as my daycare girlies get picked up and then a quick shower before Bible Study tonight. I am also using the pedometer on my cell phone and shooting for 10,000 steps each day, since that is what I saw is recommended to be considered "active" which you need for weight loss of course. Hopefully I can do it. Right now its a bit harder because its chilly outside (here in WI) but am planning a nice long walk tomorrow and doing house cleaning today to get my steps in too.

You can do this Jessie, just remember why you are doing it. I am doing this for me, my hubby and my kids, they want their mom to spend time in the pool with them and for me to do this I need to be comfortable in my own skin, only need to lose about 20 lbs before summer so I am sure I can do this.

I guess I should share a little about myself, I am 36 and the mother of 3 but only 2 now. Little explanation there. I have a 12 year old son, Noah and I had twin girls (only one now) we lost one of our girls 3 days before her 3rd birthday to cancer. Beachbody saved my life back then as I did not want to go on pills for depression so excercise did the trick. We still have one of our beautiful twins, Victoria and she will be 10 this May. So I workout not only for the weight loss but more for the mental high you get from it. Keeps me grounded.

Hope you have a great day.

Thanx for telling us a little about you Lori!! So sorry to hear about losing your daughter to cancer. I can't even imagine.

I have been doing pretty good w/ my diet. I have been tracking my food and keeping it within the boundaries, sometimes a little high on carbs, other times I did a pretty good job w/ the portions they give. I did 25 min of Cardio Party on Tuesday (I had to then shower and get to my Bible Study class) and did all of Kickin' Core yesterday. Wow am I sore today!!! Ouchie!! I haven't checked my schedule but hoping I don't have too much Ab work today as I am super sore already. I think I need to give them a break today. emoticon I also have been aiming for 10,000 steps per day and made it yesterday!! YAY!! I didn't think I would, as I didn't get in my extra walk even, but just between my workout and then my daily movement I did it!!

That is awesome Jessie that you got all your steps in. Today is rest day for me been pushing play for 6 days now so today it will just be walking the doggie dogs and eating right.

How often do you have Bible study? My daughter sings in 2 church choirs, she loves it.

Sorry I haven't updated lately. I'm still here. I'm still working at it. I actually didn't take a rest day, because my husband started working out w/ me on my day 6 and I didn't want him to take a break and not stay w/ it, so I just skipped my break day for this week. I weigh in and measure tomorrow, so hopefully I've done some good this week.

Wishing you luck with your weigh in, mine sucked this week. Ate great worked out 9.5 hours and still ended up gaining .5 lbs. Oh well, hopefully this next week is better.

My weigh-in went well. I lost 3 lbs!! Woo-Hoo!! Sorry about your weigh in. emoticon I'm sure this week will be better!!

Sorry I didn't answer your question about Bible study. I go once a week on Tuesday evenings. My brother teaches the class and is doing the Life of David. Really neat study. My kids go on Wednesdays to AWANA and we all go to church on Sunday morning and my husband and I teach Sunday school after church.
