Insanity Max Interval Sports & Upper Body Weight
Showing 11 results.
Hi, I am currently doing Insanity, I bought the Delux Version which includes the Max Interval Sports & Upper Body Weight training. My question is if you guys have a full layout of workout schedule that includeds the max interval sports training and the upper body weight training?? Because the Wall Calendar comes along the program does not include these 2 delux workouts. I am not sure how can I really use these 2 workout to be more beneficial. Please let me know?

Thank you!
Tiff

In general we don't recommend them as part of the original 8 week program but as part of the next level of Insanity. Where are you in the program right now and how is it going?

If you look at the bottom of your calendar, you can see how to implement Max Interval Sports and Insane Abs (Max Interval Sports replaces Core Cardio and Balance of month two, while Insane Abs replaces Cardio Abs of month two)
As for Upper Body Weight Training, there is no official guide, however, Shaun has mentioned doing it twice a week, on your rest day (Sunday) and on your recovery day (Thursday).

Hope this helped emoticon

He has? Where did he say that? I'll double check with him, but I doubt he'd suggest sacrificing recovery in an already brutal workout. I think you'd be better off replacing a couple other workouts with it.

Shaun MIGHT do this but you'd have to consider that he knows these workouts very well and they break him down a lot less than, well, almost anyone else. So just because it might work for him to do some slow resistance on his rest day doesn't mean it will suit everyone, or anyone who is not as adapted to these workouts as he is. Remember that the better you get at something the less breakdown it induces and this is especially true with high level "cardio" training that's all based on human resistance. So if you've done Insanity like six times and you can get through the workouts in a daze then, sure, add something that creates a lot of break down on your off day. But if it's killing you then adding something that will kill you further will probably hurt your overall progress for a long time before it helps it.

hey, so I'm of day 50 of my Insanity workout, and I did purchase the deluxe version with the 3 extra workouts, all I'm wondering is once I've finished my 8 week program, do I start all again from the first day? or should I just continue to repeat my second month with the other 3 dvd workouts replacing some other original workouts. thanks emoticon

I like to sub in Insane Abs as suggested, but only on occasion for Cardio Abs. I also subbed in Max Sports in place of Core Cardio and Balance in month 2.

For Upper Body weight training I just replaced one workout every week. I replaced Cardio Power and Resistance once a week in month 1 and Max Interval Plyo once a week in month 2. It seemed to work really well and I think the upper body weight training DVD is fantastic.

I wouldn't skip the recovery. Whether it's your off day or a recovery workout.

Ah, that's always a bummer. Just be careful. Back injuries can be testy things, don't hesitate to get it checked out by a medical professional if it doesn't shape up quickly.
