MY INSANITY® STORY......(which I have copied and pasted from another thread). I completed my first round of Insanity® on 04-Feb (all 60 - 63 days).
My thoughts on weight loss, while doing Insanity®, is based first on my personal experience, having completed the program on 04-Feb, and on the advice of others who have also completed the program. For me it comes down to
...“STAY OFF THE SCALE” (It is your enemy). I realize that is a lot easier to say, than do. My first month of Insanity I was on the scale once or twice a week...wasn’t losing anything and I wasn’t seeing any results. My wife would stare at me and I would ask, “What?” She would respond, “I’m starting to see lines.” I would look in the mirror and see NOTHING. At the 30 day mark I finally logged on here and started reading about others experiences. I also had my wife take my 30 day pictures…at the end of 30 days the scale ‘said’ I lost 2 pounds...seemed like 30 days of hard work for only 2 pounds. But I remembered what others had written,
“You’ll see most of your results in the 2nd month.” Around end of week 7/beginning of week 8…I noticed my trousers were starting to fit really loose, it was also around this time that I decided to upload my 30 day pictures on my profile. And when I did I was surprised...I could see the difference...for some reason I wasn’t noticing the changes on a daily basis...but
when I compared day #1 to day 30 I was pleased with the progress. However when I got on the scale guess what...weight lost 2lbs (from day #1). At the end of my first round of Insanity®, doing every workout my results were: lost 4.1lbs, -.75” (neck), -2.25” (chest), -2.5 (hips) and -3 (waist)...that is a total of 8.5 inches lost...would I rather of lost the weight or the inches...the answer for me is easy...the inches.
I didn’t start Insanity® to lose weight; my purpose and goal for Insanity® was to have more energy, I am almost 50 with 4 children all under the age of 12. They all want to run around play hide and seek, tag, football, baseball...etc...and they want Dad to be out there running around/playing with them. I needed the energy; I now have that energy...I’m even training for a 5k road race.
Please note that during my first round I DID NOT follow the eating/diet plan. This time around I am trying hard to follow the calorie count and eat healthier. My wife is helping me with this as she is the one who prepares our meal.
My suggestion, whatever a person’s reason for doing the Insanity® program, would be to follow the workout schedule and eating plan. Especially if one wants to lose weight. Remember, we didn’t gain the extra weight ‘overnight’ and we aren’t going to get rid of it in 2 or 3 weeks. This is a 60 (63) day program – work the program...give it your best effort – you’ll be pleased with the results. You’ll never know the results you might have achieved, if you stop before the end of the ‘race’. For those who are feeling discouraged, I encourage you to finish this race/program...this isn’t a ‘drive thru / microwavable / sprint program – it’s a marathon. Finish what you started...you’ll be glad you did.
I've attached my before and after pictures and Fit Test Results.
WISHING YOU MUCH SUCCESS. JPP (Just Push Play).
