Shakeology allergy information
I just want to ask to make sure, I have a customer that is excited
about getting shakeology but has an allergy to nuts and fish. I didn't see any nuts in shakeology but I just wanted to make sure! Thanks everyone!

Here's Shakeology formulator Darin Olien's opinion:

Yeah, there is a lot more going on than just taking Shakeology on this one.
I am fairly confident it is not specifically Shakeology moreover an ‘event’ waiting to happen as this seems like a larger systemic-body, digestive imbalance of Yeast/Candida situation. There are many things, medications, drugs, stress, illnesses that can set this off and never something that just shows up but is created over time and the symptoms may ‘pop out’ here and there. This is absolutely created through choices over a long period of time. One time of taking antibiotics at 5 years old can start creating Candida, for example.

Supported by my thoughts in MedicineNet.com:
“.....certain illnesses, stress, or medications can disturb the delicate balance, causing the fungus Candida to grow out of control, causing thrush.
Medications that upset the balance of microorganisms in the mouth and may cause thrush include corticosteroids, antibiotics, and birth control pills. Illnesses or medical situations that make Candida infection more likely to develop include uncontrolled diabetes, HIV infection, cancer, dry mouth, or pregnancy (caused by the hormonal changes that occur with pregnancy). People who smoke or wear dentures that don't fit properly also are at increased risk for thrush. In addition, babies can pass the infection to their mothers during breast-feeding.

The good news is by having Shakeology in all of Active whole foods and phytochemicals instigated the ‘final’ symptoms so that a much broader approach to restoring health can be started. There are a lot of Candida programs out there. Elimitating all sugar even fruit for awhile, no processed foods or carbs, and lots of proboitcs will help to shift this situation.

Here’s to Health and Vitality Again!

According to Darin, "I'd bet the farm that natural occuring nickle in food sources would not be a problem." That said, it's a doctor issue and I'd recommend taking Shakeology to them for a recommendation. To have a nickle allergy one would probably have to been exposed to an excessive amount of it and some point in their life. It's not a reaction to food, so it's quite hard for us to guess at.

I apologize on replying to an old post but I thought I would keep the forum posts condensed for others searching for the same thing.

I have an allergy to iodine. Does anyone know if Shakeology has iodine or potassium iodide?

Thanks
