Looking for peoples experience taking Shakeology if you have IBS. How was your body responded to it? Did you have any discomfort or side effects from taking it? I have a friend who is having major discomfort after drinking it. She is going to try drinking a half a shake today to see if that works better. Any advice would be so helpful! TY!

I have a friend with IBS who takes Shakeology and she says it actually helps her. I guess it depends on the person!

Anyone else have any experience with this? I have a pretty severe case of IBS and haven't started shakeology yet because of the fear of not being able to handle it! But hoping someone has had a great experience with it and I can finally try it emoticon

Hi I am actually getting ready to start it myself I also have IBS. I find it worse when it is before my monthly cycle and I can't eat alot of salad but I also find drinking coffee is worse too. So I am going to try the Shakeology kind of like a detox as well. Have you purchased yours yet

I have IBS and am lactose intolerant. I find taking shakeology keep me regular causing my stomach cramping to be better. The more fiber the better for me. If I let myself go too long without going to the bathroom I get horrible cramps and shakeology keeps me regular! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Have you looked into Paleo? Lot's of people seem to do really well with digestive issues when following Paleo. My mom has ulcerative Colitis and I am going to start talking to her about following it. I have also read about people with Chrons and IBS on a Paleo message board that have had good results.

I took an antibiotic 6 years ago in 2 sessions. Totally messed me up. I had terrible problems with the bowels for three years. I got close to better taking acidophiles. Taking Shakeology has gotten me as regular as I could be at 42. I have had 1 cramp but think it was un-related. My wife is drinking the shake also and is doing very well. Maybe try almond milk or other. Hope this helps.

I have it and worked up from 1/2 shake - now having been on Shakeology + Boost for several months, my ibs is better than it's ever been- she just needs to get past that hump of her body adjusting and releasing the toxins.

I have had IBS for 25 years. Nothing works. Always get cramping and diarrhea. The best thing that came close to working was Align. I started Shakeology 2 1/2 weeks ago. It actually helped my IBS. i have had zero symptoms. Best thing I ever did.

I have IBS and I am having a reaction from Shakeology. I started taking shakeology about 4 years ago and I don’t remember having that much of an issue with it. I was off it for a year or two and tried it again about a year ago. I don’t remember if I had a problem with it, but I did decide I wouldn’t order it again.
I am recently on it for two weeks and the diarrhea has been pretty much nonstop. I have gotten the runs probably every other day from being on it. And it always happens around 30 to 60 minutes after drinking the shake, sometime less than that. This is not normal for me especially since I am on a anti-anxiety pill that really helps (very low dosage) control the runs. In the past I was taking the shakes with soy milk but changed to almond milk. I also got the individual packets this time instead of the big bag, there seems to be more powder in the packets.
I am going off shakeology for a week or two to see what happens. If the runs stop, I might try half a bag or give it to my sister who is also on shakeology.

But my IBS has definitely got worse since being on Shakeology.

Sounds like you've isolated the cause pretty well. I'd never advise someone to take a health supplement that wasn't working for them because of some sort of food reaction. You're doing the right thing going off it and I'm sure if the problem continues you know to see your doctor for medical advice.
