Looking for a team? This thread is open to anyone that needs help with motivation and accountability regardless of the program you’re on. We’re here to encourage each other to get that body we’ve always wanted! Just remember, it all starts with YOU taking responsibility and then taking action.

Let’s face it, no one wants to take responsibility these days. Don’t believe me, just flip on CNN (while doing some sort of cardio of course!) and you’ll see the finger pointing game regarding the oil spill in the gulf. Same thing holds true for fitness. There’s always an excuse preventing us from being in the best shape of our lives.

“I’m too busy to workout.”

“I don’t have time to cook healthy meals.”

“It’s genetic.”

The list goes on… but, as harsh as it may seem, the real reason for over two-thirds of the US population being overweight/obese is that we fail to take responsibility and when we do take that first step, we fail to take action.

Well, it’s time to change our way of thinking! We can’t work out for you, but we can help push to you to your limits, ensuring you get maximum results.

Before you get too upset with what I've said, let me give you a little background on me…

I was always into sports growing up. Started running road races at 10 and joined the swim team at 11. During high school, I ran cross country in the fall, swam in the winter, played baseball in the spring and summer, while doing Taekwon-do year round. Even set a school weightlifting record for power cleans! I ate what I wanted when I wanted and never dreamed of getting fat. Then came college.

The Air Force was kind enough to give me a scholarship with the caveat that I had to get an engineering degree. Lots of studying, but I was still working out. Diet was lousy and beer had turned into one of my major food groups. For the first time in my life, I had a belly. The worst part is that I was proud of it!

Fast forward to graduation and the next thing i know, I'm an officer in the Air Force. Diet improved and I started working out every day (getting paid to exercise is a beautiful thing), but never quite got to where I wanted to be because I didn't have a plan.

After the Air Force, gym time was harder to get (read: it wasn't a priority). In Aug 2009, I ballooned up to an all-time high of 205lbs (wearing 36” pants). I played around with low carb diets, but nothing major happened. In Feb 2010, I was still at 198 and knew it was my fault for not making fitness a priority. I decided it was time to take action. I cleaned up my diet, jumped head first into the P90X program and haven’t looked back.

I "graduated" P90X on May 19, 2010 and Insanity on Sep 7, 2010. As of Sep 20th, I’m still pushing play, weighing in at 175lbs and my 33” jeans need a belt. Here’s the crazy part – my three best friends are United, Marriott, and Avis. I fly 100,000+ air miles per year and sleep in hotels 80+ nights a year. My time is very limited. If I can find time to workout, so can you.

To help keep the Team motivated, I try running different promotions.
- Monthly drawing for P90X One-on-One videos. Entering is easy, just post your accountability each day.
- Team Fat2Fit wristbands. Like the "Livestrong" wristbands but black with "Team Fat2Fit" on one side and "Bring It!" on the other. No excuses now for not thinking about where you've been and more importantly where you are going. Shoot me an email with your mailing address and I can send one out to you.

BRUCE!- man bro your results are awesome ! glad you got your own thread rocking!! we started about the same time together! you did another round of p90x and i went with the hybrid but we are still rocking this together! BRING IT!!

I'm nervous for INSANITY, it's gonna be crazy, but knowing that you're right
there pounding it with me, we'll tackle this thing together,

Emily - Tue and Wed mornings both look good. Headed to Yosemite on Wed afternoon and not sure what I'll have for internet the rest of the week.


Round 2/Phase 2/Day 2 Accountability: Just finished Plyo and it's still kicking my butt! Heart rate doesn't get as high as it used to, but legs are still wasted. I do way too much cursing on this routine but love it just the same.

Max HR: 158
Avg HR: 137 (includes warm up and cool down)
Cals Burned: 889

Hey Bruce thanks for the invite, I will check this thread on a regular basis. 5:00am up and just waiting for my pre work out drink to kick in then ready for Legs and back will most likely do Abs Tonight. I like splitting them up, not sure if thats better or worse but I seem to kick ARX more when I am fresh. Vacations are coming up and will be heading out camping this weekend so I will have to be doing alot moving things around and posibly some doubling up to keep getting my routines in. Plyo hits right in the middle not sure if I will be able to get that one done I will probably knock the camper off its block on that one.

As far as workouts go wont be able to hook up this week, my nights here are pretty booked for the week. Will have to hookup next week!

EM- what do you mean about subscribing to the thread. I have alwas just gone in my post and have gottn into the threads that way. Is there an easier way?

All right team, good morning to everyone!
I’m in my final week of round 1. Doing pretty well. Managed to stay out of the pool this morning, and I’m not going to coat it, I’m extremely bummed about that. yoga coming up this afternoon. I’m really trying to cut back on extra activity but may throw some biking in the mix later on, after yoga. We’ll see. I’m slightly nervous to eat as much as I did before, but I’m going to LISTEN to my body and see how it feels, can’t figure out what I need more of unless I test the waters.

So when you get to teambeachbody, you just have to click the my subscriptions tab and Bruce and whoever’s thread will be there.

Alright team time for me to go push play on some Back Biceps and Cardio Abs! love this workout! and im gonna try to get my 8 pullups again ..instead of knocking out 6 then 2..im gonna dig deep and try to get 8 without a break! and then just do as many as i can normal before each one! i noticed its a little tougher to do the pullups on days with biceps since the arms are getting worked..anyone else notice this that the biceps play a part in getting your pullups? maybe its just me idk? Alright lets bring it today!!!

JIM - Thanks for coming by! Char had to explain the "subscribe" option to me as well, so don't feel bad. To be honest, she's had to explain a lot of things to me lately. No worries on not being able to meet up in WOWY for a workout this week - I'll be camping later this week too.

Em - How does 7AM PDT work for you on Wednesday? It'll be yoga day for me and I'll need all the motivation I can get!

Shu - I'm with you on the pullups. Phase 2 of P90X is tough with the Back/Bi combo followed by Legs/Back 2 days later. Arms get destroyed, but in a good way!!

Accountability: Just finished Back & Biceps + ARX. Was pretty jacked starting out, especially after adding 2 more super wide reps than normal. Up to 10 now! Unfortunately, I was running behind schedule this AM, didn't get breakfast in and hit the wall hard. this is the first time I "bonked" and I didn't like it. By the time I got to the strip sets, my arms were completely wiped. Thought I was going to die during ARX. Should have made a Shakeology smoothie before hand. I won't make that mistake again!

Keep bringing it today!

Shu - how did the pull-ups treat you this morning? I'm serious about the "I love pull-ups" mantra that I recite before bed and immediately after waking up. It changed my whole outlook on Back days and my numbers really started to improve. If you haven't downloaded a copy of Tom Venuto's "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" e-book, I highly recommend it. One of the first books I read when starting the program. The goal setting homework seems a little corny at first, but it works.

Legs and back with ARX done and BROUGHT IT!

Which actually shocked me because I came home from work early not feeling well today, but when I woke up (cause I went to bed right away) I felt great and so I worked out.
