TURN UP THE BURN - Turbo Fire Challenge!!!

Hello Everyone!

I have started a Turbo Fire Challenge on Monday July 5th 2010 that lasts for 12 weeks (extending to 20 to do advanced workouts). I would love for some of you to join me. The challenge page is also on Facebook as Turbo Fire Workout Challenge. Look for me (Nina Powell). I love Chalene and all her programs. I have done Turbo Jam and Chalean Extreme, Turbo Fire is just as addictive!!! Lets TURN UP THE BURN!!!

Challenge Rules:

You must follow the program schedule, making sure to press play 6 days a week. Go at your own pace...but show up, we will be there with you!

Follow the meal plan provided and customize it to fit the needs of your body. If you are new to this contact your coach or send me a note.

Must drink a minimum of 8 glasses of good ol' H2O each day, Hydrate people!

Share your thoughts, stress, struggles and triumphs here in this section. We want to hear from you. There is strength in numbers so lets all support each other and work as a team!

Feel free to post your before & after photos and stats.

Results:
I started out as "new to class" so I could learn the moves. Wow Chalene has some impressive foot work, but if you are familiar with Turbo Jam or Chalean Extreme, you should be familiar. I love the Fire Drills. I have to admit, its hard to keep up with her. You should of seen my boyfriend trying to do the "Push It" move LOL..HILARIOUS. Who says Turbo Fire isnt for guys!! Cant wait for class today.

Calories Burned: 513 initially when class was over I was at 9.3 calories/min. When I finally came down I had burned 650 calories!!! WOW. Gotta love the Bodybugg!

Results:
Today was AWESOME! I can honestly say I have never had more energy. I love how my body feels sore in all the right places. I struggle with my posture so the stretch class really helps to strengthen my back. Another thing that's great about the program is how Chalene really targets your abs! I am keeping all this logged in my Turbo Tracker, I find that logging my food really helps to stay accountable. Tomorrow is a rest day, but I might cheat and do some Turbo Jam. emoticon

Calories Burned: 602+ calories burned and counting. Currently burning 7 calories a minute.

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to post a weight update. Since starting Turbo Fire on Monday I am already down 2.5lbs! WOW!! I have so much energy too. Fire 30 Class is starting to become a favorite of mine. I cant wait for the upcoming workouts!

Id love to hear your thoughts, struggles, and triumps so feel free to join this thread and post away!

Results:
I can honestly say that the workouts are becoming easier. I now have the moves down on the Fire 30 class I can really target the areas that I want to focus on. For instance, many of her moves engage your abs, so now I see that I am really starting to perfect that range of motion. Form is important and I want to continue to work on my form and my posture. After every workout I really look forward to the stretch 10 class. Cant wait for class later today!

Calories Burned: 583+ calories burned and counting. Last night I was burning 9.8-10 calories a minute. Forgot to take a pic LOL.

Hey emoticon I'm going to start Turbo Fire next week when I receive it. I did hurt my knee on Wed so letting it rest and heal until then (doing Chalean Extreme). From what I read though...its really important to give your body that one day of rest a week. If you dont let your body rest when it should you are going to overtrain and hurt yourself (like I did on Wed. I didnt take a rest day in 2 weeks so...yeah my fault now I cant exercise for a week....).

Hi Guys,

So here's my week 1 Turbo Fire Recap:

Lbs Lost: 4

Days worked out: 6

How I felt: High energy, wasnt sluggish in the mornings. I really feel good.

Goals: I exceeded my 2lbs goal for the week!

Notes: Overall I am very pleased with the progress I had this week. I am really happy that I was able to make good food choices when I went out this weekend. For me, trying to stay on track Fri-Sunday is hard, so I am very happy! Bring on Week 2!!

Hi MJ,

You are going to love Turbo Fire! Yes rest is important, but also going at your own pace. Even though we may want to keep up with Chalene, you have to listen to your body. Form is also important. For instance, I am so prone to shin splints so I try to do lower impact moves because jumping really hurts for now. But I always try to get a full range of motion so I get the best intensity. I hope that you recover soon, make sure to ice that knee. Feel better! Keep posting, id love to hear more about your experience with Turbo Fire!

Hi Larubia,

The BodyBugg is such a great fitness tool. Do you have one? If not you can get it at 24hr fitness gyms or apexfitness.com. I highly recommend it...Chalene even uses it and often she provides a discount coupon on her turbokick website!

Lets kick it into gear guys! Week 2 here we come!

Stretch 10 Class

Results:
Today's class was so AWESOME! Wow, I love the new moves. I really feel like I pushed myself. Starting to really feel stronger each day. Thankfully today my shin splits arent bothering me. I think the small muscle in the front of my leg just needs more exercise to support all the jumping. It usually hurts on the inside of the lower leg by the calf. It might not be shin issues at all. Targeting those abs as much as possible!

Calories Burned: 642 initially when class was over I was at 8.9 calories/min.


How is everyone else doing? Are you as addicted as me?

NINA!! Hey Lady!

My BeachBody Coach, Nina. Gotta love her motivation! A special thanks to you for your pep talks and encouragement. I'm looking forward to starting TurboFire tonight when I get home from work.

I also started the 5 day inferno plan this morning, and although I'm super hungry (like need to make sure I eat my morning snack and lunch is right around the corner cuz I'm starving), I have to say the food is really good and it didn't cost a lot to get everything I needed to follow the plan very closely.

I also would like to say I think it's a great thing that Chalean has offered a substitution list to swap out the foods I don't like or can't eat with foods I do enjoy. Makes it so much easier to follow and eliminates the GUESS work!!

Finally found your challenge thread, will definitely spend more time looking around the message boards now that I'm finally in them.

Nina. I love the way your taking pictures of the calories you have burned after your workouts. Its amazing to know what can be achieved in 30mins. Are you guys doing the stretch straight after the workout or are you planning to split them up? I havent read the programme yet so it might answer my question after i have read it.

Ive got to go to work now but i'll be back later.

I'm a Chalene fan as well, I love the Turbo Jam series. I'm presently doing the Turbo Jam Cardio parties (mainly CP 2 and Punch Kick Jam)... I ordered Turbo Fire on Friday (07/23) and can't wait to take it up another notch. I'll post as well for support. It's really exciting Nariko to see your posts, I'm definitely going to go buy me one of those Bodybuggs! I have 25 lbs to lose as my first goal and I'm looking forward to doing it with Turbo Fire. When do you typically exercise? Morning, noon, or night?

Glad to have you join us!! Turbo Fire is my drug right now. I love the way I feel after a workout and the bodybugg tells me that I did something right LOL. I usually do everything listed on the schedule for the day. On the HIIT days I mix in Fire 30 or 45 class to burn extra calories. My arms have slimmed down so much from the punches. Its crazy because there isnt a lot of resistance training, but the moves she has us do targets so many muscle groups. So above all else make sure you stay true to your form, even if its not the same speed. You will see a difference quickly!

Hi Laura, Welcome to the group! Since my boyfriend and I are doing Turbo Fire together, we do the workouts in the evening after dinner around 9-10pm. If your around, Id love to see you in WOWY! The bodybugg is a great too to stay accountable to your eating. For me its my biggest problem, so as long as I write down everything I consume, I really know where I stand. The bodybugg lets me know if I need to do more to hit my calorie burn goal. I am totally hooked on this lil device...I even sleep with it on! LOL So worth it!
