I have a customer who has asked the following "As I embark on the P90x + and Insanity training I was wondering what your thoughts are on Casein Protein? The reason why I ask is that I eat dinner at 5:30pm, work out at about 7pm to 8:30ish, drink my recovery formula after the workout, take a shower and by the time I hit the bed at 10pm at my stomach is growling with hunger. I heard that Casein protein is slow absorbing protein and should be taken right before bed to maximize rebuilding of muscles. If you or beachbody supports the use of Casein protein, how does that interact or counteract with the results and recovery formula?"
Can you help me get an answer to him? Thanks so much!

It shouldn't mess with the recovery drink so long as you wait 30-60 minutes after the recovery drink.

From my understanding, the recovery drink has fast absorbing proteins and carbs that work quickly to replenish the protein your muscles burned during the workout. Casein protein is a slower digesting protein designed to help feed your muscles during the fasting period when you sleep. During the eight or so hours of sleep, when your muscles run out of nutrients, they begin to eat away at themselves. The casein prevents this.
