Fast and Furious Question
Fast and Furious Question
9/15/10 6:58 PM
Hello everyone!

I have read a little about the Fast and Furious workout, but haven't actually talked to anyone that has tried it. Has anyone here tried the Fast and Furious workout? The fact that it is 20 min sounds excellent and would fit perfectly into my time schedule! I have already done 1 round of insanity and I am hooked on the program. The results have truly been insane!

I have a question about the program. How many calories have you burned while doing the Fast and Furious workout? If you can burn the same amount of calories in 20 min that you can burn in a 45 min workout, the workout must be absolutely insane! I know every person is different, but I am just curious if anyone has tried it and actually tracked their heart rate and how many calories were burned during the workout.

I hope everyone is enjoying Insanity and seeing great results! Keep digging deeper!!!!

Hi! I just purchased the Fast and Furious workout and did it for the first time today! I woke up late and this was the perfect substitution since I didn't have much time! I loved the workout - I didn't wear my heart rate montior so I can't say for sure, but I do not think I burned as much as in the 45 min. workouts but still more than any other 20 minutes you could do. The workout is tough - I actually had to break during it and so did the two people in the video itself (perhaps when I can get through the whole thing without stopping I will burn the same amount of calories). I just started my second round of Insanity and have purchased the deluxe dvd's for this time around!! Please feel free to email me anytime!

I got the Fast & Furious DVD and burned a little over 400 calories. That is about half the calories I burn doing a Max workout.

I did my first Fast and Furious workout today.. I did almost the whole workot without stopping and only burned 300 cals. What type of HR monitor do you have Anthony?? I have a Polar FT7 and all indications are that it's a darn good monitor and is pretty accurate. I see people all the time saying they burned 1300 cals in a workout. I've done complete workouts at full bore with minimal breaks and have only been able to crack 1,000 cals. a couple times in at least 150 insanity workouts.

Today I was in the FITNESS cycle of the workout for only 10 mins. and burned 300 cal which is damn good.. I did achieve a MAX HR of 212 which is a little strange because during all my other insantity workouts my highest HR was 194.

That guy in the DVD with Shaun shoud be embarrassed and Shaun should have fired him on the spot, He literally quit on the workout half way through and that's no way to dig deeper and keep people fired up.. What a complete wimp he was...

GOOD LUCK to ALL.. John

Not to hijack your thread, but I have had the same experience with my Polar F6. I am 1 month into Insanity so I do take a couple extra breaks now and then. But my calories burned are usually in the upper 300s. I feel like I'm working hard. Have to stop and catch my breath, but I'm nowhere near the calories other people say they are burning.

I'm starting Max today so we'll see what my HR monitor says after that! Would love to try Fast & Furious, too. If I survive month 2! emoticon

I have only been able to reach about 900 calories with my heart rate monitor - I haven't used it on the Fast and Furious but think I will this weekend to see what I get.

fithealthy10 - you WILL survive month 2! It is tough but you will get through it!!

Good Luck! and please post about progress!!

Hi John. After looking back on my records I burned 359 calories. I have a Polar F11 and It has been pretty consistant. I think the Polar brand is one of the best out there. As far as reaching 1000 calories in a workout I have done that a few times with the Max workouts. Usually I'm in the upper 800's though.

I agree with you about that guy in the video. I think that woman out worked them both.

Day 23
Insanity Fast & Furious
Max Hr 171 (98%)
Avg Hr 138 (79%)
Calories 359 (45%fat)

I'm pretty sure that guy was supposed to do that... They make the dvds for all levels and I'm definitely a beginner... I hate watching everyone in the "class" but me breeze through it. This vid was choreographed so that he was the weak member that allowed me to have realistic goals about this dvd while doing it for the first time... They kept the woman going longer than both the guys probably because women like me need to see a success story while balanced with realism. I was very happy with the balanced approach. It encouraged me to keep going when I'm exhausted. Seeing that guy "have to stop" and then start again kept me doing the same. emoticon
