I just finished my first round...it is amazing and awesome to see the results.

Don't focus on the scale, weight loss happens as a natural event later in the program. My few words of advice:

1. Unless someone is supportive, don't pay attention to them. People have varying degrees of interest. Many are either afraid or don't understand your desire to feel good. Remember, this is about you, not anyone else.

2. Track your results including your heartrate. This way you can visually see your gains and transformation.

3. Sleep, and eat carefully. Get plenty of rest and eat thoughtfully. At the beginning, don't skimp on either. Eat good foods. Your body will need calories.

Finally, have fun and enjoy it.

I think Big D offered up some pretty good tips, but I also would like to offer one. Plan your start date around the Rest/X-Stretch day (assuming you are doing the classic routine). I think most people like to start the program on a Monday which makes their Rest/X-Stretch day on Sunday. I personally prefer to have Fridays as my Rest/X-Stretch day so I started the program on a Saturday.

I suggest having a bottle of room temperature water to drink. When I started, I thought a bottle of ice cold water would hit the spot during a workout. All it did was make me feel nauseous.

Along the same vein, don't work out under an A/C vent. Same effect as cold water. Use a fan if you like moving air.

Last, watch your sweat and towel off frequently. You don't want to end up slipping on your mat because of a few drops of sweat.

What is so cool is that as you start the program you will adapt and respond...good advice from everyone...

As you go through each week, read posts of others. You will notice that many people will share your same experiences around the same time. This will help keep you grounded.

P.S. use the excel tracker found under the workout tools.

Hi SY19. I am new as well and have started on Nov 1st too. Today was day two and I was wondering "What does plyometrics mean?" Well, I just found out! Hope you did well today with it. I plan on seeing it through! I am getting through the videos but also am modifying if necessary. Its only day two and I know I will get stronger in time.

Hey, I just finished Rockin Body and am now starting P90X. We could buddy, that will help keep you going! There are lots of us here in the super gym who really support each other and can help keep you motivated.

A few things I used when I first started my last program.
Do this for you. By that I mean be positive with yourself. You will not be able to do the workout day one, so do what you can. Keep a record. As you progress, you will get excited and motivated at your accomplishments.

Get a support system in place. Joining a fit group sure helps when your sore and it gets tough to stick with it. One thing I knew in the beginning was I would want to quit when I got sore or life got in the way. Remember: It is true what is important to you, you will find time to do. Make this important! I also planned for this by deciding what I was going to do on those days to get myself motivated. For me reading the stories or watching the videos of people who are in worst shape than me and actually accomplishing it really motivates me. I think to myself..really dayna..if so in so can do it ..you have no excuse. This works for me and I find I really can do more than I think.

Hey folks, just checking in here. I'm a day behind due to volunteering for the election but by next week I'll be completely on track. Just finished L&B and ABx back to back and there is a reason I usually do AbX in the morning....OUCH.

Keep pushing play everyone!
