Welcome to Team Ferocity...

I’ve pounded out P90X and Insanity. I am focusing mainly on hybrid programs that incorporate P90X/Insanity/One on One programs at the present time and plan on adding on some other programs as the year goes on. Don’t worry if you don’t have all these or are doing a straight P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, Chalean Extreme, etc, you still came to the right place.

We'll all eventually move onto new workout plans in an effort to keep things fresh. The idea is that we can all be here (in one spot) and get to know one another and keep each other motivated and accountable to whatever workout we are doing at the time as we'll all be at different points in our workouts at one time or another. A familiar place to gather as friend AND family is RIGHT HERE.

Beachbody has literally changed my life. I’m healthier and more energetic than ever. It feels really good knowing I’ve most likely prolonged my life not only for me but for my wife and child (and soon to be children).

My journey thus far has not been easy but with hard work, consistency, and a little enthusiasm (this is hard for me too sometimes) I’ve come a long way. Join my journey, travel with me and my team, we can help you. It helps to have support and a few ears to bend during your journey no matter how far along in these programs you are.

I can help you if you are willing to bring the commitment. I’ll help you stay motivated and bring FURY to your workouts. Together with our joint ferocity these workouts won’t stand a chance.

BE FIERCE! FIGHT WITH FEROCITY! BRING THE FURY!

No regrets. Leave everything on the floor.

Paul (Furor)

Also, if anyone wants a team wristband (pictured below) that say "Unleash Your Fitness Fury" shoot me an e-mail, it's on my profile page. I use it as a reminder about my fitness when I may want to make a bad food choice or blow off a workout, it's definately helped.

Thanks for the invite to this thread! I need all the support I can get. I started on 10/26 and hammered out my first week. I am excited to start my second week today after work. The eating every 3 hours took a bit getting used to....must be prepared all the time with food! Some of the exercises are hard for me - i.c. - WALKING PUSHUPS! It will take me some time to work up to those... emoticon

Hey Paul,

I am super excited to continue this journey with you in my corner. I am a feisty little thing so I need someone who can push me and coach me with some tough love at times. I am also determined and persevering when I am seeing results --- of which I am definitely seeing!

P90X is amazing... and even after completing almost 6 weeks (Sat 11/6) it still kicks my ass every workout and I LOVE IT!!!!

In the first 4 weeks I lost 10.5 inches and 4 lbs of fat... that was exciting. But what is more exciting are the comments I am getting now from people around me, especially ones who have not seen me in the last 6 weeks...and I still have 50 lbs to lose!!!!! Whoo hooo -- yeah baby.... all I have to say is BRING IT or GO HOME!!!!

My biggest challenge is the food. I would like to share with you what I am eating/ consuming and see if you can help fine tune the nutrition aspect. Let me know if you want me to do it here or via email.

Thanks!

Michele

Whew, ok got a question for the crew I am trying to refine my diet found a cool site to track my meals per day looks like I am getting 130+g of carbs a day what should I be aiming for? My protien intake is great but I want to maximize my gains. Any suggestions?

Paul here...

Round 1 Week 2 Day 5 (R1W2D5) - Insanity - Cardio Power and Resistance

I have a headache (probably my first one in over three months). I don't think I hydrated enough yesterday so I'll down an extra glass of water before this workout then hit it as best I can.

Thanks for jumping on board everyone. Don't be afraid to chime in and share your experiences if someone needs help or asks a question. The answer from many is better than an answer from one as we are all different and react differently.

Mike - I'm going to tell you what I would first have anyone do. Then if we need to take it a step further we can talk more, remember everyone is different but this is a good start and it's pretty straight forward. Try this first. Go to the "Eat Smart" section above and click on "My Meal Planner". Answer the questions and get the basic breakdown for the caloric intake/macronutrients that are recommended for your particular plan goal. Get a typical meal on paper and post it hear. The copy and paste it and e-mail it to my inbox.

As for Yoga X, I truly did not like it my first round but Tony (and everyone swore by it) and I would do Stretch X a lot in it's place. Frankly I had quite the belly and still have a little one and it made the poses really uncomfortable. For my next round I'll do it every time and suck it (by then my stomach should be more cooperative also). Way to go on the nutrition stuff also, in my opinion it's probably 60-70% of anyone's success and the hardest for most.

Mjsmom - The eating every three hours does take some getting used to but it's important. If you can shoot for 5-6 meals a day it should really amp up your metabolism. It shounds like you've adjusted though. I cook all my lunch meals on the Sunday and do a "quick touch up" for what I need on Wednesday and it's helped a lot. I'm really good all week during the day and take whatever my wife cooks for dinner (it's usually healthy anyhow) and just try and portion out the food to my caloric intake for that meal. It's worked for me so far so I'm sticking with that. I need to refine my weekends a bit as I skip the off meal. I'm not perfect though and keep making progress so until that slows down I'm happy with what I have going. The exercises will come, just do your best and forget the rest emoticon . Modify if you have to and keep pushing yourself a little more each workout and the progress will come, it has to.

Michele - I love the motivation and determination. Your progress is amazing and what it's all about. People used to make the odd "man he's big" joke here and there around me and i just blew it off. I was always a "thicker" guy but now that I'm slimming down significantly people are noticing and making different kinds of comments. You're right it feels great. Use that as your motivation on tough days. Be sure to post here often for support that is what we ARE ALL HERE to do, HELP EACH OTHER. That's why it's TEAM FEROCITY and not Team Furor. Do the same thing I asked Mike to do and I'll check your stuff out.

Okay I'm off to hit this workout.....HARD.....be sure to join the WOWY Supergym to keep track of your workouts.

I just wanted to add this Daily Motivation that a buddy of mine posted on another thread. He's currently deployed to Afghanistan and I couldn't have said it better.

No matter how tired you are, how much you don't want to finish out the last set of exercises, there is always someone out there who is feeling more pain, more tired than you but yet they complete the workouts and finish their reps. DIG DEEP. PUSH PAST YOUR LIMITS. DESTROY YOUR WORKOUTS TILL THE END AND LEAVE IT ALL ON THE FLOOR! I CAN DO IT, I KNOW I CAN.

I was spent after my workout by the way. I'm having a darn good day so far.

BE FIERCE! FIGHT WITH FEROCITY! BRING YOUR FURY! UNLEASH IT!

No regrets. Leave everything on the floor.

Paul

I'd like to join you guys. I started P90X on Nov. 2 after having it sit on a shelf for about a year or more. I'm sore, but excited about the possible results I could get with the program. I was very active on here 3 years ago & had great results doing Turbo Jam & Hip Hop Abs. Then, hubby & I decided to have a 4th baby, I got lazy, & all my hard work went out the window. So, I'm back to where I started 3 years ago...5'4", 156 lbs., sz. 10. I want to get back in my size 6's & 4's that have been gathering dust in my closet since 2008. I want to be healthy & have the energy to run & play with my kids again. My biggest motivation is my hubby...he's deployed to Afghanistan right now, so my goal is to look awesome by the time he gets back! I did a couple of weeks of TJ right after he left & then pulled out those P90X dvds. I want to do one round of the X & then move on to something else...maybe TurboFire or Insanity...haven't decided yet. I'm having a hard time with the length of the workouts with P90X. I'm used to being done with TJ in about an hour or less, so I'm gonna need some major help staying motivated to finish out these 90 days. And, major motivation on my diet too...that's the part I stink at the most, especially with all the Halloween chocolate that is sitting in my house right now (4 kids can collect A LOT of candy)! Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks for the welcome! Okay, today was supposed to be YogaX for me...I HATED it! I only did the first 20 minutes of it & then put in TJ Cardio Party 3 instead. I think I'm gonna be one of those that has to buy a different yoga dvd for yoga day. It's SO long & boring!!

And, thanks for the screen shot. It's weird, but my page doesn't have a subscribe link on it. Everything else is there, but there is nothing beside "Post New Thread" on my page...just blank space. Wonder what I'm doing wrong??

ETA...alrighty, it's all of a sudden there now...I promise it wasn't there before!

( R1W1D5 ) Completed legs and back with Ab Ripper X whew I am spent I tell ya I must be the most uncoordinated man on earth. Some of those one legged exercises kicks my ass and the wal squats HURT LIKE A &*&)*_)*&( ! Felt good burned good real good. Question got the Ab Ripper-X I can nto do the V-up ROll up just is awkward to me, can I substitute those with anything?
Alright team lets get out there and leave it all out ! Look forward to making progress with all of you.
Another question anyone doing P90X and weight trainign at the same time if so I would liek to get a little insight. I really love hitting the weights btu I have stopped since beginnign P90X because of the strict regiment I dont want to screw myself when it comes to recovery time and hitting the right body parts ont eh right day.

Thanks,
Mike

ProudAFwife...

If I may jump in.... I thought the same thing and I am much heavier than you. But I stuck it out and did it although begrudgingly each time. My first attempt I made it through 15 minutes... I HATED it. The second time I just tried to keep beating my personal best from the previous time. Last week... I am at the end of my 6th week as of tomorrow... I FINALLY made it all the way through the entire routine and you know what I found out??? I COULD DO IT AND I am actually beginning to look forward to it! The motto is "Do your best and forget the rest!" Well never a truer statement was made about Yoga!

Sounds crazy I know but here is the best part. By the second week, I was beginning to get the hang of it, by the third week, I was noticing my neck, shoulders and back were much more relaxed. By the fourth week, I found that after doing the Yoga, I was calm and relaxed the rest of the night, basically felt the stress weight lift right off my shoulders. Now mind you, I still cannot do every single pose because of my body shape, but I can tell you if you stick with it and just let your body do what it can, you will be amazed at the strength and stretch your body can accomplish.

It is reallllllly worth sticking with it...mind over matter....and I would NEVER recommend it if I didn't believe in it's power.

Just something to think about!

Have a good one!
Michele

Hi all

I just started on P90X on Monday Nov 1st. First round for me and my husband.

I completed (with modifcations)
Day 1 - chest and back (my least favorite so far), ARX
Day 2 - Plyo
Day 3 - Shoulders and arms, ARX
Day 4 - Yoga X
Day 5 (today) - Legs and Back - unable to do ARX since my legs were TOAST!!! I could not lift them for the ab routine. Those sneaky lunges are very sneaky.

I have done alot of cardio this summer and it did not help at all with my weight. So I want to switch things up and what a better way than P90X. By the end of the 90 days I want to get down into the mid 20s for body fat (i am at 39% now) and hopefully drop 20 lbs and many inches.

Any one else feeling fatigue? I am not sure if it is because of all the different exercises or the diet (I am following the fat shredder and I am to eat 2400 cal per day). I may be under by about 100 - 200 calories a day but I am not hungry at all. I used to eat alot more complex carbs. Just curious.

Looking forward to the journey!

Peg

Furor here...

R1W2D6 - Insanity - Pure Cardio AND Cardio Abs

Let's just say I "Unleashed the Fury". I'm thinking to myself every time time Shaun T says "Let me turn around and show it to you from the back" why doesn't he just say "Ladies check out this butt shot. You know you want me!". He disgusts me (I'm kidding obviously). This s**t is bananas!!!

Welcome to all the new folks. We have a good showing so far and I'm glad we can all help each other. I'm always available by e-mail or private message through the site. I'll do my best to get back to you as soon as possible. Of course you can always post here also and maybe someone else can give you a quick answer.

Be sure to welcome the new people, we all have something to add.

AFWife - Thanks for joining. I was a "Flyboy" myself for 6 years bouncing from Security Forces to Intelligence. Your goals are reachable and let everyone here help. You're taking the first step by deciding where you want to go with the program. Do your best with P90X the lenght sucked for me also. In my opinion P90X was the best "structure building" program because of it's lenght. Once you do it the others, for me anyhow, seem more tolerable because like you said, they are a bit/alot shorter. I love P90X. Do your best and just stay motivated, we're here for you. I hope your husband stays safe and he'll be home before you know it. Also, Like Michele said, modify as you have to and push for that extra 2 reps or 5 seconds whenever you can. It will all come in time.

Lena - Thanks for jumping in. She's a big time runner for those that are also. I really want to get people on the thread that have like interest so if you like a particular activity let me know and I'll see about recuiting a few for our team. You can post an into or whatever you feel comfortable doing. The better we know each other the better, it all depends how much you want to share.

Michele - Way to get through the 6 weeks. It gets easier and more fun (if I can say that) as things go along. You start feeling better, people start noticing and voila, instant gratification. I use that to push me further and further each workout. We all have bad days but we just have to do our best and like Tony says "forget the rest". I'm with you on the Yoga poses, I still have a tough time in some of them but I'm working on that and I KNOW WE'LL get there.

Peg - Thanks for joining. By your screen name are you a runner also? That's awesome you and your husband are hitting this journey together. Thanks for joining us. Get him to jump on board also. The more the merrier. You'll get into your 20's for BF we'll make sure of that just be consistent and ask questions and express your concerns here. At times I feel a little fatigued. Are you taking in a carb about an hour before your workouts? That may help if you are bonking like that. When do you work out?

Okay I have to run as my daughter will wake up any time and I want to let my wife sleep in today.

Invite some friend and if they need a coach send them my way. Just have them buddy invite me and I'll send them a message.

I have a challenge to propose. I have a few workouts I don't really like as I'm sure you do. Let's call them our "Challenge Workouts". When you do those, post at the beginning of your thread "Challenge Workout". The idea is that during those workouts you push yourself for 2 more reps or 5-10 more seconds on each exercise when you are feeling ready to quit. If you did good through the workout add after the "Challenge Workout" if it was a success, needs some work, or really not too good. We'll see how many "Success'" we can get in a row. Today was a success for me. I hate doing Abs work.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

BE FIERCE! FIGHT WITH FEROCITY! BRING YOUR FURY! UNLEASH IT!

No regrets. Leave everything on the floor.

Your friend and coach,

Paul
