Does Insanity kill your knees?
I'm thinking about starting Insanity in 2 weeks. My question is - how hard is Insanity on your knees? I had some knee problems in high school (almost 20 years ago) from playing tennis. They only seem to hurt with certain programs, tho. I finished P90X (Lean) in September, and my knees were fine the entire program. I'm finishing up Chalean Extreme in 2 weeks, and my knees are toast. I had the same issues when I did the final phase of the 30-day Shred. I know I'm using proper form, there's just some kind of movement in those 2 programs that my body does NOT like, and I haven't been able to pinpoint in (lunges? jumping?). Anyone experienced any problems like this with Insanity?

In my short experience with insanity I have to say : Yes, it's tough on the knees.

I am a runner and I don't want to overwork my knees leave alone have an injury, I am training to run a 1/2 marathon next Spring so I use knee support when I do insanity. I definitely skip the workout where you have to land hard -with all your body weight- such as power jumps, diamond jumps and knee hops. However and work extra hard on the rest of the program.

I also have foam mats all over my hard wood floor for cushion and easy clean the rivers or sweat. You should probably take it easy on those workouts where you notice it's extra hard on your knees since you have that knee background.

Good luck with insanity.

I have been doing insanity for two weeks now, with some activities abreviated. I have had two replacement surgeries on my knees, so it isnt worth hurtin gthem. I do wear a knee brace every time I do insanity. I have been surprised it hasn t affected my knee more.

I agree that Insanity can be hard on the knees. If my knees are getting tender, I wear a knee band - it costs less than $10. I am surprised how well it works.
