Hi! I have been doing Turbo Fire since this summer. Completed the 12 weeks, did a couple weeks of the advanced DVD's and am now doing a CLX/TF hybrid.

I am 46 years old, mother of 4, and I teach full-time at one school, part-time at 2 others. Busy, but loving the workouts! I am officially a Chalene admirer!

I don't see too many "older" folks on the TF workouts, do on the Chalene Extreme.
Just wondering if I had any company?

Hi! I'm 41 and would consider myself to be in the "older" category. LOL I have 3 boys.

I just got my TF package yesterday and I'm so excited to start! I'm new to BB. I need to do some grocery shopping tonight so I can begin tomorrow.

That is good to hear that you love the workouts! I'm hoping to have successful before and after pics!

I'm 41 and am hooked on the motivation, determination and encouragement I get from Chalene and her workouts. I'm on Day 21 of TF and LOVE it!!!! The high energy music really gets me moving and even though I try to keep my feet on the ground with low intensity I always end up jumping out of excitement.

As far as kids, I have two, ages 9 and 18. I'm a work at home mom and quilter working hard to lose another 65 pounds to reach my goal. I'm always looking to connect with others so that we can encourage each other and have that added accountability as we work towards our goals.

TF will be a wild 20 week ride but I'm loving it!

Hi Dawn! I did get the meal planner so I need to go shopping! emoticon I need healthier food choices to take to work. I'm hoping to look at the meal planner tonight before my son's basketball game so I will check out the snack-o-matic! Sounds interesting!

Sue: it is, but I'm so picky--there's only a few things I can use, lol

I watched the kitchen video from CLX and we now organize our kitchen and pantry another way!
The fruits and veggies and GOOD choices, and front and center--no longer in the crisper. It makes a big difference in what you are your kids choose.

I am a firm believer in making slow, steady changes. My kids will NOT stop drinking soda just because I ban it from the house, but they MIGHT, if I offer more of the "other" choices, and if they see me model that.

Nice to meet you all!!

Hi everyone!

I'm 43 and am on week 14 of TF. I am loving it!

Speaking of over 40, I think Chalene herself is like 41 or so.

cmmamma, how are you liking the hybrid? I plan to do that hybrid when I am done with the twenty weeks of TF.

Karyn: It is a little slow-feeling at the beginning, because there is not a lot of cardio. But, as you know (since you are on week 14) TF is all about the cardio!!

I'm in week 2--just about to finish. I plug in a HIIT whenever I can to help. It is a really intense way to lift weights though! I've done 2 rounds of P90X, and the strength-training in CLX is absolutely different!!!

I haven't taken any measurements yet--too soon. I'd be curious to see if I have any inch differences. There is a lot of ab workouts in the hybrid--so I'm hoping for a 2-pack, maybe??
lol

Nice to meet you, I sent you a buddy request, tooemoticon

Hi everyone!

I start TF tomorrow and was thinking about doing Inferno first. We are going out of town this weekend so it may be difficult for me to stay on track with the meal plan.

Did anyone do Inferno? If so, would you recommend it? Can you do it after you start the regular TF schedule?

Sue: I think you could do the Inferno plan ANYTIME! I did after I had to take some time off, it helped me to get "back on track"

Hello,
I am 44 and in Wk 3, although I had a two day set back this week due to the flu. I am convinced this program will work as long as I can keep motivated. I think if I can get though the first month, I will be well on the road to success. It is difficult for me because it takes a while for results to happen and it is very discouraging.

Just have to take it one day at a timeemoticon

yup--only takes 21 days to create a habit, right??
Just keep pushing play!!

Did you take before pics? I soooooo did NOT want to, but my hubby made me! Best choice I was ever forced to make, lol.
Because I did not feel like I had made ANY progress, but to look at the Day 1 and Day 30 pictures was incredible!!

Just keep it up--and we are all here to help motivate you!!

Have any of you tried Shakeology? I have heard that it is really great, but for my budget, pretty pricey.

My diet right now is good, not great, but good. I keep a food journal and am very good about counting calories. I have lost 15 pounds since my weight loss journey began (also, 3 skirt sizes!) and I only need to drop down one more skirt size to reach my goal.

I understand about how it can get a very healthy meal replacement. But does it work to help the body burn away excess fat?

Thanks, Karin

Karyn:
yes! it is da'bomb!
Nothin like it!!!

I used to be concerned about the price too...but when you think about eating out anywhere, or at home for a good, healthy meal...$4.00 is probably about what you spend, if not more.

Myself or your coach can tell you how to get it for $3.00 a shake as well, or even FREEemoticon

Don't wanna sound like an infomercial--so message me if you have any more questionsemoticon

I have been using Shakeology since October--before that--about 14 months of working out HARD, and seeing moderate results--glad I'm drinking it--plus I'm like Carl D. and I "eat like a second grader", lol

Hi Ladies! I have two young boys and I'm definitely over 40. I started TurboFire last year but then stopped and went back to P90X and Insanity because I found it hard to follow Chalene's moves and I felt like I was not getting as good of a workout. I was too busy trying to follow her and not able to truly push myself. I started back up again with a hybrid of P90X and TF in December which I really like and I'm getting good results.

I LOVE the HIIT DVD's! I have a question for you though... What is the best way to figure out how to follow the routine and yet still get a workout? Do you watch it in advance, use the new to class or are you all TurboJam graduates? When you do the new to class program it's so long. I wish they told us exactly how long that was before we started as I usually end up stopping early as I've run out of time and need to get ready for work... Do any of you know how long the "new to class" programs are for each DVD? If you do, I would sincerely appreciate the information.

Best of luck in your fitness journey! I'll have to check back on this thread as I definitely get motivation from connecting with others who are doing the same program.

BTW, My husband and I have used Shakeology for over a year and we love it! It's great on so many levels and definitely worth the price. Particularly for people our age emoticon
