Suggestions: exercise mat for over carpet
Can anyone suggest to me a good exercise mat that i can use on top of carpet that won't slip around? Right now I have a large foam mat that works well, but it slides around the carpet when jumping around or doing practically anything. I find myself pausing mid workout several times to fix it. I have also tried to foam puzzle mats only to have those constantly seperating during my routines. I'm looking for something that will protect my carpet and will not slide around. Anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same problem, and could not solve it.
I began exercising in a part of the house without carpet. My mat no longer slipped, and the problem solved itself.

Btw, I used a Valeo mat.

Forget the mat, try some yoga socks. I haven't used them personally, but I hear they work well on carpet. You should be able to get a pair at local sporting goods store.

I have used no mat on concrete, foam on concrete, rug on concrete, and now rug on carpet.

No mat on concrete was problematic because of all the sweat you leave on the floor which can create a slip and slide.

Foam on concrete is ok, but once again, all the sweat creates a slip and slide and starts to squeak.

Rug on concrete worked well, but it did slip around from time to time. At least it was not a sweat slip though.

Rug on carpet does slip also as you have experienced. What I do now is place some weight at the front of the rug to prevent it from slipping. Just started doing it this week and has worked well.

I have the puzzle mat and found that it came apart too. I solved this problem by putting it all together then putting strips of duct tape and seal up the puzzle pieces really good then flipped it over so the tape didn't show and badda boom badda bing. problem fixed. Hope this helps you out

Is this still working for you? If so, would you be willing to send me a pic? I don't have a 3x3 of the puzzle mat b/c they come in 8 packs. So I've got a ghetto 3x3 with a corner missing. Interested to see what your mat with the tape looks like.

Any help would be appreciated since I start insanity on 1/2/12 and have had problems with the mat coming apart in p90x.

Thanks,

Adam
