Seriously? Am I the ONLY fat one on here?

I'm somebody who has struggled with obesity and food addiction. I thought it would be great for people like us to have a place where we can encourage each other because it can get discouraging feeling alone in this. Losing weight is hard enough as it is, but when you have a LOT to lose, sometimes you feel like giving up before you even start. Please feel free to send me a buddy request. I would love to help you in any way I can.

Hugz,

Coach Mindi

Hey!!! So happy to meet you! I send you a "buddy" request. Would be fun to stay in touch. Congratulations on your new journey! I started mine on January 1st. The past couple weeks have been a challenge as far as eating goes, so I'm doing a two-day Shakeology fast these last two days of the month to end it off with a KABOOM! I'm going to be posting my end of February pics and measurements on March 1st. I'm definitely going to keep at it, no matter how long it takes. I'm here for ya, so just holler when you need some encouragement, ok?

No, You are not the only one. But I have noticed that these boards are not very "fat people" friendly or supportive, really. It seems like people will read someones post without commenting unless it is about a program they are on and want to brag about how many inches they gained/lost and how they "used" to look. (about 30 people read mine and NO ONE commented) I don't begrudge them that; that's nice and something great to be proud of but try to help us who are not "there" yet along the way and pay it forward. It is very discouraging coming here, so I don't.
I just came today on a whim that somebody answered my post from several days ago. nope. Anyway, I am still overweight, have about 60 more pounds to lose and am doing 10 minute trainer; well, when I get it in the mail this week! If you wanna chat, send me a request or you can email me at Moroccanwife@msn.com. emoticon I am thinking of making a board for us "fattys" who have more to lose than most of these people on here, lol!

You are not alone! I started at 210, got down to 139 however my father died and it started to creep back up again. Just got weighed this morning @ 160 but what's scarier is that I'm 36.5% body fat!! I'm petite so my goal it to get down to 108-110. That's 50+ lbs and I am upset with myself for gaining back those 20. I'm starting INSANITY and am scared, sick, sore, frustrated and tired, but also excited and determined! I had to modify some of the moves and press pause at times just to get through the fit test. Don't worry, whatever you are experiencing we are with you! Amanda

Your not the only one at all. I have started about 30 days ago and I have not lost much weight just inches. I have 90 pounds to lose. I have been doing Turbo Fire. Any suggestions for dropping the weight? Though the clothes are fitting looser, I want to see some pounds shed to. Ita a bit discouraging.... Just like my coach would say though just keep pushing play I guess is the way to go.
Since we are the fews ones who are in dyre need of losing a few more pounds than most people here your more than welcomed to add me. On facebook my email is sweet_jade06@yahoo.com you can also email me as well.
Good lukc to you...

Shelley!!!! Congrats on the 25 pounds you've lost so far! I am inspired that you are taking yourself on despite the struggles you've had with weight your whole life. I have forgotten what it feels like to be thin, so I'm right there with ya in wanting to know and feel what healthy is! I'm happy that we are able to be here on this journey together and support each other. What can I do to help?

I started at 231 and now I'm 206. My goal is 135-140. I like your enthusiasm. We CAN and WILL do this! Thanks, girl! Keep in touch!

Hey, Ummhamza, I read your profile and you picked the right program. I really liked TMT when I did it. I realy wanted to do it this time when I started back but my husband was feeling macho I guess and said he would do Insanity with me if I did it instead.

When I started with TMT in Nov. 08 I wieghed in at 252 pounds, after doing it for the 90 days I was down to something like 220 and I had lost over 30 inches. I had a thread on the TMT board for a while and there were several nice people but I think these boards are too full of coaches now. (no offense Mindi) I mean you make a post to try to find someone to relate to and all you do get if anything is 18 "coaches" trying to be your buddy. It seems like they want to befriend you until you say you have a coach that you are happy with and sticking to.

There are still some very nice people but I think alot of really over weight people get the harder programs like P90X and Insanity and realize how hard they are and look to the message boards for help only to find really fit people. Once again they feel like the fatty at the gym with all the "hotties" and so they give up. Yeah, I know how you feel.

Well keep at it and eventually you will be one of the fitter people too and maybe you can help someone that is feeling the way you are now. Just get on and start talking. That is what I do, I mean really it is just a message board. You can also join us on my thread if you want "doing Insanity 118 over weight"

I appreciate your input, and of course I have to address what you said about the boards being flooded with Coaches, and that many of them are looking for the opportunity to add you as a Coach. However, there are many Coaches who SINCERELY want to help people. That is TRULY the essence and core of what Team Beachbody is and is SUPPOSED to be about! I have always had a passion for helping people, particularly in the area of weight loss because I have suffered so much pain and humiliation from being so overweight myself. I did become a Coach because it was a perfect match for what I've always wanted to do! It gave me the tools I needed to lose weight and get myself in shape, and I still have a LOOOONG ways to go. It also gave me the opportunity to connect with other people who are discouraged about where they currently stand on the scale or in front of the mirror, and help support and encourage them on their journey. There truly is nothing more enjoyable to me than being part of helping somebody achieve the goals they have always dreamed of! It's like oxygen to me. I NEED to help people succeed. I know this comment wasn't directed at me PERSONALLY (I hope you are able to see that I am sincere and only want to help people), and that your comment does hold a lot of truth. I just wanted to make sure that everybody knows that we want to be helpful on this thread. Sure, I'm a Coach, but I'm also OBESE! I need help too! I need motivation and encouragement too! I get discouraged when I'm not seeing results as fast as I'd like them and can use helpful tips and suggestions from all of you!

So...moving on...yes, I think many people pick a program like p90x because of its popularity, or they might have seen a huge success story. P90x is a GREAT program, but yes -- it is very hard core, and I personally think if you're grossly overweight, it's best to start out with something a little bit more realistic unless you like being in pain. lol. I admire that you're doing Insanity! You're BRAVE!

Please keep us posted on your results! We'd love to hear back from you!

Hey there, I'm another one that's got a long way to go. I've actually lost about 80 pounds, but still have at least 70 more to go to get to my goal. I was very glad to see this thread because I was thinking much the same thing. It's very frustrating to feel like you're the only overweight person in any given area. But it's good to find some fellow heavy's, and I wish you all the best of luck. We can do it!

Hi, Everyone~

I hope you don't mind my jumping in on this thread! I am a former fatty and, although I've lost most of the weight I've wanted to lose, I still have a bad relationship with food and that's what I'm trying to work with. I've been using Beachbody workouts for awhile and really love them.

Anyway, I love the fact that all of you are working to get healthier; it's a long process and one that lasts a lifetime but, from what I've read here, all of you seem firmly committed to the process. I feel that I am just constantly making changes to what I do, especially when it comes to what I eat. Exercising, for me, is the easy part; developing a healthy relationship with food is way more difficult for me.

I hope each of you reaches, and surpasses your goals and expectations. If I can lend any motivation, I'm more than happy to!! I am really trying to make that a personal mission for myself because I've been there.

I know each of you can do this!

I'm SOOO glad you joined our group. You really aren't the only "fat" person here. As I stated, I have a total of 91 pounds to lose. I have lost some, but still have over 60. My pic is one that I chose to put up to keep me motivated. If you actually looked at my profile page, you would see some not-so-pretty pictures. *grin*

You said you need help. I LOOOOOVE to help people who are wanting to lose weight. What can I/we do for you?

Hey, girl! I sent you an email, but I also wanted to comment on here. First of all, I want to say I'm sorry that you didn't get any response to your initial post. I would've been happy to respond, but I didn't see it. Here we are now, though, and you can see that you have a BUNCH of people right here with you who are willing to help you out. Isn't that an AWESOME feeling? So I'm celebrating our little group here, and the fact that you have started the 10 Minute Trainer, which is an EXCELLENT place to start! PLEASE keep coming back and let us know how you're doing or if you need anything, ok? Hugs!

Amanda, WOW! Insanity, huh? That's pretty incredible! I admire your persistence, and I hope you keep going. The workouts will get a little easier each time you do them, but they'll continue to kick your butt because that's how they are DESIGNED to work. They build muscle quickly and deliver fast results BECAUSE of that fact. I was recently told about a man who weighed over 400 pounds when he started p90x. All he could do was walk in place, but that's what he did. Eventually, as he lost some weight, he began to add moves in here and there. Eventually, after doing several rounds, he lost all his excess weight, but the key is that he did WHAT HE COULD. I'm SUPER proud of you, and I hope you will keep in touch. I LOVE to hear updates and celebrations! Take care, hon!
