Thank you for the information! I just wanted to check, do you know if the lysine is L-lysine?

real quick

You said the AA composition is per 28.5 grams
and the serving size on the bag is 48 grams

was this a typo or does 1 serving of the actual shake ALMOST double the AA amounts

Just clarifying for my own info - and anyone else that is looking for it emoticon

Thanks,

Jeremy

I got that list from the type of whey protein we put in Shakeology. Since there's only 15g of whey protein in a serving, it would actually be half of what I listed above.

Strawberry doesn't use whey protein, so it has a different makeup. It is vegan.

Y'all realize that pretty much ANY scoop of whey powder will give you an array of aminos? The BCAAs are nothing magical, as any source of protein (including whole foods) provide you with aminos. For example, a quarterpounder hamburger is 113 grams of beef. Assuming you use lean beef, that patty will give you 1.12 grams of Isoleucine, 1.89 grams of Leucine, and 1.19 grams of Valine, which amounts to 4.2 grams of BCAA.

Well, yes to whey protein but no to "any source of protein." The whole difficulty many vegans have is getting the COMPLETE list of amino acids need for a complete protein, since very few vegetable sources have all.

Sorry, I didn't realize that OP was a vegan. Also, I didn't actually say that all protein contains all aminos. IMO post-exercise recovery drinks are typically designed to complement (and possibly synergize with) the other meals. Many people tend to pair grain/legumes for obtaining complementary amino acids.

FYI, for the vegans out there, last year Peter J. Woolf and colleagues published an interesting paper http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0018836

I particularly enjoyed this discussion about Brazil nuts

No need to apologize. I don't think the OP is a vegan. I just misunderstood your point to be that all proteins are created equal. Now I see you weren't saying that.

I noticed this was posted a couple of years ago, and def doesn't match up with was is on my choc. vegan packet, has it changed? And also, I can't find any information on the amino acids and amounts in Vanilla Shakeology! Do you know these?

The breakout you saw above was based on the non-vegan formula. It uses whey protein. So, yes, your's will be different.

I'll see if I can get you current info about Vanilla.

That would be great! Thank you. It's not on the back of the vanilla packet for some reason. Looks like only the vegan varieties give the breakdown of the amino acids.
