Turbo Fire.... I am struggling, help!!
Showing 18 results.
I got Turbo fire about a week ago and just started it a few days ago. I am normally pretty active, but I am only able to get thru 10-15 min of any of the videos. I feel like I may be over my head.
My concern is that I WANT and NEED to drop about 60lbs, but am afraid that it will never happen. Can anyone give me that boost of motivation that I am needing...

Thank you

Kim,

Keep exercise low impact. Are you having difficulty following routines? Also, tell me about your eating habits...Many things impact your ability to perform...You can do it, but need to be realistic and take it 5 lbs at a time...Keep in touch....Nutrition is just as important as exercise...Keep in touch

The routineis challenging..yes. But I am out of breath with in the first min or two. Which that alone brings me down. My nutrition is actually ok. I do allow myself to have a cookie here and there, but for the most part I count my calories, try very hard to have lean protein, and alot of veggies, and drink a ton of water daily. I just am letting my self get down, I think, I need to push play and not get mad when I am done after 15 min..I guess

I like all the other suggestions you've gotten. My question for you is are you trying to keep up with them, all out, high intensity?? If so, being new to the program, I would say just lower your level of intensity to start out and take a break when you need it...just like Chalene says. I think we all want our results so fast sometimes we forget to be patient with ourselves. I love Turbo fire and there's a huge difference where I'm at now than when I first started. Intensity and jumps are much higher, energy is high throughout! But it didn't start out that way. So, I think you just need to be patient and really know that it will come, you will get better, your energy and stamina levels will increase and as they do you will increase your intensity. Always go at YOUR rate, make it YOUR workout, trust your body, push in your mind, your mentality is so important. Remain encouraged, continue coming to messageboards for support and keep pushing play! Also, read your materials if you haven't already. Chalene really wants you to be successful and she KNOWS you can. So follow her guides, listen to her words, trust her and your beachbody team and most of all TRUST YOURSELF! Your results WILL come if you stay with it!emoticon

Thank you for that suggestion... I bought this off of ebay. I did not see anything about a prep program. But I think the idea is maybe just lower my intensity???? Thank you for the offer as being a buddy, I saw your profile. You are from Virginia Beash, I have family there and was planning to got here this summer. I also would love to run a Marathon soon hopefully.
Thanks for the encouragemt and I will add you ....

Hey there,

There should be 2 booklets with your kit and a loose leaf schedule. The Turbofire "Turn up the Burn" booklet has the prep schedule in it.

I'm doing the prep schedule and I am finding it hard to keep up too, but like they say - "Do your best and forget the rest" If you can only do 15 minutes today shoot for 20 in a couple of days, you'll get there!

There are some great responses and support posted here! I am in my 3rd week of Turbofire and I too have had a rough start of it. I have spent the last year in classes (bootcamps and step classes) so thought I would adapt more easily. What I find is my greatest challenge is the learning curve on the routine. Like starting any new class, the important thing is to keep moving, the routine will come in time. I have seen improvement in my form and in my endurance, but just like Rome wasn't built in a day - my extra pounds were not put on in a day and they aren't going away in just a few classes. Enjoy the music, enjoy the movement and take pride in yourself that you are doing something so healthy for yourself! Focus more on learning the form, go at your pace and success will come emoticon I too am looking for workout buddies and invite anyone new (or experienced) with Turbofire to partner up!

Don't give it up! Even if you just mark the moves and keep it very low impact to get through a whole workout, you'll feel accomplished! Your body may not be ready for the high intensity, so you just have to work up to it. Also, 15 minutes at high intensity is better than nothing! I have a rule that I started when I did Turbo Jam that I ALWAYS completed the video, even if I had to stop and take breaks or break it up through the day and to this day I have followed that. I was afraid that if I made a habit of stopping, that I would always do that. So basically, just set yourself a goal and follow it (i.e. add 2 minutes to your workout a day) - you'll be glad you did.

I am in my 10th week of Turbo Fire and to say I LOVE it is an understatement. Prior to that I had been doing Turbo Jam, have the entire collection and love all of them. So I was pretty familiar with much of the choreography which I admit was helpful as I learned Turbo Fire. There have been some new steps to learn and there was some adjustments to the increased speed and intensity to fumble through. It's really just about repetition. That must be why they say "keep pushing play". If you do and just keep trying, you simply cannot fail. The reps will get you familiar and soon you will just be rockin out and "on fire"! I'll help you however I can. I'm sending you a buddy request. My workouts are in early a.m. but we can buddy up if you'd like! The support is great! Good luck as you continue...you won't regret it. It get's more fun as you go!

I am in week 4 of TF and love it! I struggled with learning/remembering the routines. Chalene likes to give you a lot and then go into it. Be sure to use the "new to class" whenever you can. I have posted to other message boards that I do this and it helps. Even if you've done the workout before, its nice to know what is coming so that you can focus on the movement and get more out of your workout. Its a great reminder, too.

If you are still struggling with only getting about 15 minutes in, I agree with our other posters "15 minutes is better than 0 minutes". Just make those 15 minutes the best workout that you can and try to get to 16 minutes tomorrow, and keep adding on as you can.

First of all... Thank you to everyone who has posted so far and with nothing but positive and motivating advice. After reading them so far I have some great tips to use and feel like I am not alone. I think that was the hardest was see all of the success stories and wanting to be there right now. I will get there I know it.

Secondly... I got up this morning, did the HIIT 20 completely and 15 min of the fire 45. I am feeling so much better about this. I have also set up a goal to take it 5 lbs at a time. and ultimately drop 60 and then train for a 5K.

Thanks again for the support... It does help.

Not sure what Turbo Fire intels but if it is anything like Turbo Jam... I would suggest to learn one video at a time before moving on to the next one...Don't give up just stick with and before you know it you will be ready to move onto the next one... I just started Hip Hop Abs with Shawn T. and I love his dance workouts...
I feel so much better after I have worked out... keep going....

Hi, It sounds like you are getting some pretty good advice already, but I wanted to pop in and add something. It sounds like your brain is willing but your lungs are weak. Turbo Fire is a full on cardio based program that will test your wind and have you breathing hard for sure. That being said, bear in mind that the longer you do it the better you will get and your breathing will improve. I am a runner, so for me the challenging part was the choreography, and not so much the breathing. Running has helped me build up a pretty good wind and endurance level.

You mentioned you ordered your program from E-bay, in all likelihood it has some things missing since it did not come directly from Team Beachbody. I would suggest this, start with Fire 30 and do it every day for one week, if you want to take a day or 2 off and just do the Stretching one called Stretch 10. I am not sure what DVD's came with your set, but if you can do it try Stretch 40 instead, it is a really comprehensive stretch workout. Once you get really familiar with Fire 30 and your endurance/wind improves then try moving to Fire 45 EZ or even HIIT 20. HIIT 20 is easier than HIIT 15 in my opinion. You will notice an improvement and soon you will be able to do all the workouts and look back to these early days with amazement.

Hang in there, every minute you can add from one day or week to the next is improvement. Keep pushing play!

Seriously, LOVE this advice! I'm pretty active but have never been thin growing up but do eat fairly health (however definitely have room to improve - trying to focus to limit bread and sugar). I ordered TurboFire and am just starting month 2 but I'm struggling. The HIIT workouts are definitely my favorite and month 2 are all long workouts, and almost feel repetitive to me. I usually don't give up but I feel like I've hit a wall. I get discouraged when I get a little behind (trying to keep up with them and sometimes I get behind, etc). This is so not like me.

CBaybee12 - Have you thought about joining a challenge group? I didn't see ANY results until I was in a successful one. And it took 4 or 5 unsuccessful ones before I found my niche. If you'd like more info on this send me a buddy request or email me at BBCVentura@gmail.com. I am starting a NEW challenge group at the beginning of January. We'll have ALL the tools for you to succeed.
