Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body? Before starting Insanity I was working out to multiple Beachbody titles 2 to 3 times a week. In August I was at a local fair and saw someone with an Insanity I earned it T-shirt. I was feeling pretty good about my decision to get back in shape and around this time in my fitness transformation I was down about 25lbs from my 215lb start When I saw the T-shirt I new it right away, I wanted one. I am a volunteer at a local Beachbody fit club and we had done the Insanity program a few times as a group so I new how hard it was going to be. I think the scariest thing for me was that nagging voice in my head repeating what my wife always tells me, Todd you never finish anything. Which she's right I have always been great at starting but then I lose interest and move on to something else. Not this time.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey? My fitness journey started march of 2011 when a friend of mine found out I was a Beachbody Coach and ordered some P90X recovery drink from me. I am an Internet Geek and trully only became a coach because of the generous commissions available through the coach program. However once my friend ordered from me he started asking me questions about the programs and my success with them and I wasn't able to answer a lot of questions seeing as I had started many of them but never continued for very long. I was 215lbs my and about to have to go up a size in my trousers. Soooooo I decided to start a program. I was 215 when I started in March I started drinking Shakeology once a day and was loving it. Then I started hitting the play button to the Shakeology workouts
What in particular did you like about the program you chose? No Equipment Necessary, Workouts were all around 45 min commitment. Shaun T really connected with me through the TV, I know it sounds funny but he really engaged me during my workouts and got me to dig deeper and try harder.
Tell us about the greatest challenge you faced. How did you overcome that challenge? My Biggest Challenge was sticking to the Program and Hitting the Play button every day. I new it would be difficult for me and it was. Looking back I remember 1 evening about 10:30pm my wife woke up out of bed and came flying into the living room asking what the heck is going on. I hit the Pause button and quickly explained to her that I had appointments all day and hadn't worked out yet but I was damned if I was going to let anyone at our fit club on Tuesdays down by failing to hit the play button. She shook her head giggled and went back to bed. She has told this story several times in the last month. :)
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody® program. What achievements are you proud of? I dropped another 10 to 12lbs doing the Insanity Challenge, My legs feel like machines, my energy levels are through the roof, I can see my abs for the first time since oh Im guessing Sophmore year of college which was in 1992. I honestly feel like I have found the fountain of youth, and feel like I'm in my 20's again. To me my biggest challenge was sticking with it the entire 60days. To this I owe all my friends at the Owatonna Fit Club full credit. The idea of someone asking me how my Insanity Challenge was going, and letting them down by telling them I had dropped the ball was exactly what i needed to complete this.
How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey? I signed up through the internet and have never had much contact with my coach, in saying that I want to make sure that I take responsibility for that and place no blame on her what so ever. In fact probably the best thing she has done for me is to make me more independent. Plus she is great at providing me with tools and info through emails. Instead if I nominated anyone for helping with my fitness success I would have to give credit to all the Beachbody Coaches and Attendes of our local fit club.
How did Shakeology® support your transformation? What are the biggest benefits? Wow Wow Wow Shakeology gave me the energy to get things done and power through my workouts. I am a lifetime shakeology fan, and I rely on it daily to keep me on track. In fact it helps me do my job by helping me think clearer all throughout the day. I have gone from two pots of Coffee a day to 8 to 10 Cups of Half Caf in the last 9 months and my doctor loves this as do I. I noticed even before I started hitting the play button that as long as I had a shake a day I would lose about 1 1/2 pounds a week. Shakeology has also improved my Billiards Ability since taking Shakeology my Handicap has gone from a 65 to a 91. I contribute this to my evening meal on Wednesdays before going to shoot pool. What tips or tools on did you find most useful? What made them so instrumental? The Supergym is incredible I am not a physical piece of paper kind of guy. Being able to log into my online gym an see what workout I was doing each day and what was coming tomorrow was great. The meal planner was also a great source of ideas, I didn't follow the recipes exactly but loved the idea's
