My Personal Bio:
Hello! I am daretosoar and I am here to continue my journey for the body of my dream. I stay very active and have a passion for health and wellness. I enjoy an outdoor activity, weight lifting (my personal best bench press is 240pounds), and reading. I believe in living a fulfilling life and reaching for the stars.
My Transformation Story:
I have a passion for wellness and living life to the fullest. I didn’t always. I felt like a lost soul as you can tell by my before picture. I was fat and unhealthy. I let others determine my priorities for me and I didn’t take care of myself. When that picture was taken I was so ashamed of how I let myself get out of control and almost 300 pounds. Eventually I decided I need to do something about it.
At first I was a hit and miss gym goer. I really didn’t know what I was doing but I felt better about myself because I was at least making an attempt. I didn’t have the focus or the knowledge to make a real difference and I certainly didn’t change my eating. The one good thing was a developed a desire to read everything I could. Over time I learn to focus my workouts and began changing small things in my diet. Eventually I started dropping some of the weight.
While all this happened, I begin initiating wellness programs and information into my workplace. The first thing that was noticed was a boost in morale. Then employees were coming to me to tell me about the five pounds they lost or that they felt so much better since they started walking. This just helped me stay more motivated to continue with my own weight loss and regaining control of my own health. If I was going to encourage others I had to fit the part. I found that I got more satisfaction from my wellness programs than I did any other part of my job.
My passion for wellness and life balance continued. I personally dropped over 70 pounds. On several occasions I have been asked to help design a workout program or advice about losing weight. That’s when I decided that maybe I should become a personal trainer. Then I would have the knowledge to back up my experience with building a better body. Its an ideal I have toyed with for over a year. I have to have a body of a trainer before I take that leap.
This year will be the year that I make it happen. My friend Dave introduced me to P90x. Now I was used to heavy weight training and lots of cardio. I wasn’t certain I wanted to give that up but I seen the results Dave had and I thought I could use a little variety. He promised that the program would be intense. He was right. I absolutely love it. It’s a program that just brings it all together in one nice package.
Although I am still in my first round of it, I already feel my back getting stronger and my flexibility has increased. I can’t wait to see the finished results of round one. I know they are going to rock. I will lose the final 50 pounds this year. I hope you will join me on this journey of health and wellness.
