I'm your average, every day desk jockey. I wasn't always; I even had a few years of weight training back in high school. I often dreamed of becoming a personal trainer so I could help others get fit while I got in better shape. I'm your average, every day desk jockey. I wasn't always; I even had a few years of weight training back in high school. I often dreamed of becoming a personal trainer so I could help others get fit while I got in better shape. Unfortunately, after high school I became wrapped up in the computer world and have been sitting either in a car running between clients, or at a desk ever since. Like a lot of people I know, I joined many gyms but found reasons not to go or it just wasn’t convenient for whatever was going on in my life that day, week, or even month!
I ended up letting myself go for years eating whatever I wanted and just kept packing on the fat. I kept telling myself that as long as I was happy with myself, nothing else mattered. In 2008 I had knee surgery which was a great excuse why I couldn’t do even the little bit of exercise I had done in the past. To top it off early in 2009, I had some major life changing events happen which included the loss of both of my parents which really put me in a tailspin. I found myself putting one foot in front of the other day after day; not really caring about anything let alone myself.
One day, I found myself watching a fitness infomercial, “Insanity,” and thought “What do I have to lose?” The disc came in the mail; I placed it in the DVD player and could not keep up! I was winded and thought I was going to die! Obviously, this was not the result I wanted, but it was a real eye opener. I realized at that point how far I had let myself go. I started searching Beachbody’s website for another program that wouldn’t kill me. While searching, I found the information for Shakeology. I have always had IBS issues (irritable bowel syndrome), and thought “Yeah, right – nothing has ever helped this before, why should I try this?” I then asked myself “What do I have to lose?” I ordered the Shakeology along with another fitness program, Power 90. After 2 weeks of drinking Shakeology, I noticed that I was no longer having issues. I couldn’t believe it – the IBS was under control. I got really excited. I actually found something that worked! This was not just another money gimmick. I then started using the Power 90 program – modified it to my abilities, and found I could keep up.
One of the greatest things I have ever done was become a Beachbody Coach. It’s easy to belong to something that you fully believe in. The coaching opportunity allows me to fulfill that long time dream of helping others get fit even though I’m just starting on my own journey. Therefore, my new life long goal is to use Beachbody products to totally transform my body and life to become a walking billboard for both what you can do when you put your mind to it and what the Beachbody products are capable of doing if you let them. This journey is giving me a life I could only dream of! Instead of looking at pictures of other people’s vacations and thinking “I wish I were there…,” I am planning where I want to travel to and how soon I want to go. It’s a great feeling!
I have made a commitment to travel down this path. I have a coach who makes this journey a lot easier. She is understanding and yet is still willing to push me through the rough spots so that I can achieve my goals. I, in turn, can be that coach for you. I understand how hard it is to get motivated. I understand adversity. I understand low self-esteem.
