It all starts back in High School. I was very active in
Track and Field and Cross Country all throughout high
school. I would run 40-50-60 miles a week throughout the
year. In fact the most I’ve ever ran in one week is 108
miles. Running that much, I never had a problem with my
weight or fitness. I eventually was a state champion for
Track in Illinois, and was recruited for Track and Field in
college, where I went to the Air Force Academy.

Running in college was a challenge for me. I was injured
early and often my first year of collegiate track and field
and was never competitive at the collegiate level. That
started a slow decline in my physical fitness level. For a
couple years I was working out less and less, but still
eating like I did when I was burning a few thousand calories
a day running as much as I had.

A couple years out of college and into the Air Force, I was
at a level of average fitness. I never excelled at the
fitness tests in the Military, but I always passed them.
Then in 2004 my squadron commander in the Air Force
appointed me the squadron PT officer. That’s right, I was in
charge of making sure our unit was fit and prepared for our
fitness tests. That set off a trigger in me and helped me
get into the best shape of my life. In HS I was in good
shape, but was very one dimensional. I could run fast all
day long, but couldn’t do much else. As a PT Leader, I
focused on total body health, working with weights
extensively for the first time in my life. I eventually
scored a 97.5 out of 100 on the Air Force Fitness test.

I left the Air Force in 2006. I now work in Industrial
Equipment Sales and that involves a lot of traveling and
more than a few dinners at restaurants. The result has been
as expected…a bit more weight around the midsection than
there was a couple years ago. I have seen the P90X
infomercials repeatedly and wanted to buy them, but always
had a good reason not to. However coming home from a sales
conference a while back and seeing the scale reach a number
it never had before finally got me to pull the trigger.

The thing that sold me about P90X is that Beachbody doesn’t
advertise how quick and easy the program will be. No, they
advertise that you’re going to work harder than ever before.
That’s how I knew it was the program for me. I don’t want
mediocre results.

100 Days into my journey with Beachbody has been awesome.
I’ve dropped 27 lbs of fat, and put on almost 10 lbs of
muscle. I’m feeling great and looking the best I’ve looked
in a long time. I still have some more goals to achieve,
but now I have a firm plan to get there.

Let’s Keep Pushing Play!
Keep Bringing It!

John
