Saint Louis, MO Hi, my name is Mary and I am thrilled to have found Beachbody! I have always been into some form of exercise, fitness is a passion for me! I love running, weightlifting, bootcamps, and kickboxing. I wasn't always fit....when I was in high school, I never worked out; competitive sports didn't appeal to me and there weren't many other choices. I found my niche in college, I began to run. I love running, weightlifting, bootcamps, and kickboxing. I wasn't always fit....when I was in high school, I never worked out; competitive sports didn't appeal to me and there weren't many other choices. I found my niche in college, I began to run. I swam laps in the pool and participated in various group exercise classes. After college, I realized that I was doing too much cardio and needed to lift weights. I really saw results from that and have continued to love it since! I am now a certified personal trainer (since 2002) and have also taught group exercise, including cardio kickboxing, strength training/resistance classes and bootcamps. I have never been a fan of DVD/at home workouts.....until I found Beachbody! I saw the info-mercial for Shaun T Insanity and was instantly hooked! I resisted until I saw the infomercial for the third time. I have almost finished Insanity as of this writing, I have two weeks left to go! Yes, it is insane, but will really blast you into shape if you stick with it! It is fun and challenging.....if anyone out there is doing Insanity and wants to chat or blog about it, please contact me! I am happy to help any way I can, I will be your workout buddy in WOWY, too! I am recently finished Insanity (what a ride!) and I am currently doing P90X. I think Beachbody has the best DVD workouts, the most sound nutrition plan, and the best supplements out there! And I have seen and tried a lot of "diets" and supplements in my years as a trainer! I would love to help you as you get started on a workout program. I don't have a dramatic transformation story; mine has happened slowly over many years! As I mention in my bio, I was not athletic as a teen. I didn't like competitive sports and was intimidated by them. I was slightly overweight then, more out of shape than anything. I found exercise in college. I started to run with my roommate (workout buddies really do help!), then I discovered the pool at our college rec center. I swam a mile almost every day. Of course all of this cardio paid off, but I actually became too thin and didn't have enough muscle. Once I graduated, I moved home and joined a gym. That is when I discovered my love for the weights! Weightlifting gave me more self-confidence and changed my body more than any amount of cardio ever did!
Since then I have always kept weightlifting in my exercise life. I have two children, 13 and 11 and a great husband. Needless to say, I had to work hard to get back in shape after both pregnancies. Don't despair, ladies, it can be done! I did it, so can you! No time to go to the gym? What if you could just put in a DVD while the kids nap and completely change your body while staying home?
I loved the way I felt from daily exercise so much that I eventually decided to become a personal trainer. I have been certified since 2002 and love to help people set and achieve their goals. I always have new goals for myself, too. I think that is very important so that we don't get sick of exercise. I am now 48 years old and honestly in the best shape of my life. I recently discovered Beachbody when I saw the Insanity info-mercial. I am a big fan of bootcamps, so this style of working out really appealed to me. I have almost completed Insanity, less than two weeks to go. It has REALLY improved my abs and core strength. I didn't take before pictures but will be posting my pics at the end of Insanity. I recently received P90X and started on November 2nd. I am into week 3 and feeling great! Does anyone want to go on that journey with me? I will help you every step of the way. Having a workout buddy is so important!

01/05/11 Just started Chalene's 30 Day Challenge and I am loving it so far. What a great way to start the new year. She really breaks it down, if you have trouble setting or keeping goals (and who doesn't!), More ... 11/17/09 I am currenly in week 3 of P90X and loving it! Getting a lot of my strength back and feeling great! I love pullups! (OK, so maybe I am a little weird, I have always liked pullups!)
