P90X Day 56 Results

I just completed my Day 56 of P90X. I have posted my resutls and pictures on this site and my Blog (http://www.AskCoachGlen.com).

I've lost a total of 12 lbs. and 3 inches on my waist.

I feel the best I have in many years.

P90X Legs & Back Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of my P90X workout. Today we worked on legs and back. As with every other workout we start out with a warmup. Please don't discount the warm up when I was younger I injured my rotator cuff because of not doing a proper warmup. You will find that the work out gets all the muscles streached and warm.

We worked the back with a series of pull-ups each set seperated with a set of leg work. The equipment needed for todays workout was band or weights, a wall, pull-up bar or bands, a chair, water and a towel.

I don't know about you but by the end of these work outs my shirt is soaking wet and I use my towel frequnetly. I generally go through a large bottled water during each workout. I hadn't mentioned this earlier so I thought I would bring it up here.

The workout starts with balanced lunges, then calf raises if you want to intesnsify your workout you can add weight by adding dumbells in your hands or using the bands. They show great illustrations on the videos.

Next reverse grip chinups, super skater and then wall squat. Wall squat by far burns the most. You will feel like you are dying before the wall squats are done.

Later they kick it up a notch and do it with one leg. Owwwww!

The rest of the workout includes a myrid of other lunges and leg work with many varied pull-ups.

A finish up of this workout with AbRipperX and we have made it through Day 5. Whew!!!

The diet for this day was once again great. Breakfast was Cottage Cheese with Raspberries and Kiwi, before noon snack peanut butter and whole grain crackers. Lunch Turkey and Avacado Sandwich afternoon snack Raspberry smoothie and for dinner was Halibut, Broccoli and salad.

On the Team Beachbody website as a member you can do fixed meals or customize your own. So far I'm using the fixed meal set.

P90X YogaX Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of my P90X workout. If you thought Yoga was for girls, guess again!

This is Yoga X and it is extreme.

Some of the moving positions in this routine are very hard. It is going to take some time to get limber enough to be proficient at it. Another issue for me is that you are holding your body with your arms for quite a while while doing these and I had to stop and rest in between for my first time doing this.

About half way through this starts the balance postures. These too are not easy at first. It takes good balance and though this seemed to be easier to me than the moving postures it was still hard.

Of all the workouts so far this has to be the hardest. It lasts for one and a half hours too.

I'm sure the more you do it the easier it will get.

For breakfast I had the tomato omelete with turkey bacon and whole wheat toast. One thing the turkey bacon is very lean so you do need to use some PAM or other oil spray to keep it from sticking to your pan.

One thing I haven't mentioned yet is I've been eating my breakfast then doing my workout. On the Plyometrics DVD Tony says not do the workout for at least 2 hours before the workout. His warning was for cramps. I did the workout anyway and had no problems.

My before lunch snack was celery and peanut butter. And for lunch I had the roast beef reuben and salad.

The after lunch snack for today was a stawberry yogurt protien shake. And for dinner was chicken burrito with beans and rice.

I have to admit on this diet I'm eating way more than I used to eat. That might very well be why my body clung onto the fat because it wasn't getting enough.

I used to skip breakfast eat a small lunch and then dinner was my big meal.

The only thing I have been craving is Iced Tea. I drank a lot of iced tea before decaf but that was what I would drink. I've been sticking to the water with an occasional splash of lemon juice.

Well that's about it for Day 4 stick with me as I go through the P90X Program and report my stats.

P90X Arms and Sholders Day Three

Happy Cinco De Mayo,

Welcome to Day Three of the P90X workout.

Arms and sholders is all about building the big guns as Tony says. I enjoyed todays workout it was one that was easier for me to keep up with the video.

In this workout we work sholders, biceps and tricepts. The reputions repeat over and over. Working each muscle group from different angles. You feel really pumpled when your done with this workout.

In my bio at http://www.teambeachbody.com/AskCoachGlen I talk about a gym that I used to go to. We had similar workout that we did but I have to say P90X is still extreme compared to my old workouts. We would work the complete upper body and P90X isolates even the upper body and works them longer and harder.

So how was the diet today? I'm still liking it. A good variety and very tasty. For Breakfast I had cottage cheese and raspberries. I mixed the raspberries in with the cottage cheese. next time I think I will eat them seperately. I just didn't care for the mix.

Snack time was a Mango Yogurt Protein Smoothie. Next time I order I'm going to go for the Vanillia Whey Protein Powder. I bought the Chocolate last time and for the majority of my meals that use the Whey Protein Powder vanilla would have been a better choice.

Ok so back to the diet. For lunch I had Chicken Curry. It was quite nice and a good hot meal.

Some of you are thinking I'm at work how can I follow a diet like this. For people on the go beachbody has other options like the shakeolgy plan that you can use to substitue a meal.

My afternoon snack was celery and peanut butter and for dinner Hawaiian Chicken kebabs.

All of my great meals came directly from in the team beach body site. They have all the tools you need to succeed and reach your goals.
