Day Ten

When I was a kid I got to go to one of those camps in Vermont where they take you out in the woods, put you in a canoe, and call it an adventure. I was up for anything because I knew they had rock climbing and this ten year old was destined to climb cliffs. They hooked me in and I was thirty feet up in no time. I was doing so well that I was so suprised when they told me to enjoy the view. Turns out I'm terrified of heights.

This experiment is a lot like that. When you stop making excuses and start living in possibility 24/7, things get rolling pretty fast and you instinctively turn on the brakes. So I did slow down a little.

I missed an affirmation and I didn't work on the new apartment all night. Today was spent at my daughter's field trip watching the imax movie about the hubble telescope.

Third grader: "I think it's scary in space."

Me: "In space, no one can hear you scream."

Third grader: (eye roll for effect) "That's because you're too far away."

I love kids, but I can never eat a whole one.

When I got home I crashed hard and was guarded by the kittens for a few hours. My wife and I have just finished our Turbo Jam workout and I'm having shake for dinner. Then it's sleep and hopefully back to five am wake up and full speed ahead.

I'm still afraid of heights, and I still climb.

Day Nine

It has been quite a long day. I didn't have the energy to get up at five so I slept in. That led to a much more productive day of negotiating with my landlord, and handling the details of my move which started yesterday and ends whenever I finish. I negotiated my way into the larger side of the duplex. I'm doing some work and he's doing some work. Tonight it's clean, prep, paint, and drywall. It looks like I'll still be up when it's time to work out again, then I'm off to downtown for my daughter's field trip. Don't be alarmed though, I got my turbo jam workout in just before midnight. Well, back to work for me. Sleep well.

Day Eight

For every solution I came up with today, I have two new problems. Bring it.! Bring it all! "I want the full catastrophie!" - (Anthony Quinn as Zorba the Greek)

Day seven, one quarter of the way there.

Today was all about the distinction between want and commitment. I was committed to eating right, working out and leading the kids to to the Sunday maintenance that come with any place. I believe that the next three weeks will provide such an abundance of evidence, that my commitments will not be put in question again. Time will tell.

Today was punch kick and jam day and it's a really good one to practice before hand. I will cut this short as I am nodding off at the keyboard. Good night.

Day six, rest day

That's right. Rest day, only one workout. Was up at five, had coffee for breakfast, and played with the kitten. Not super productive but I didn't want my body to get away from the 5am wakeup. Eventually the rest of the family got up and joined me and we all realized that we were about to be late to the dojo. The day just whirled by from there. I kept bumping into people I hadn't seen in awhile and gave away all of my shakeology sample packs. If a quarter of them come back as sales it's going to be a very good month. Took the kids to the local Mayday celebration where they could run and play and swim, I really had a fantastic time. Waking up on Saturday not being able to breathe has been the best thing to happen to me so far. I checked the mail, and my peak flow meter has arrived, so now I'll be able to get some raw data for the doc and find out how serious this little breathing gift is. I have my evening affirmations to recite, then I'm off to bed. I hope your day was twice as good as mine, but if it was only half as good, I'll bet you're still grinning.
