Day 1 of Ultimate Reset!

I cannot wait to see the results of this program!!!  Breakfast down the hatch - scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast and steamed kale.  Now that's a hearty breakfast - I definitely won't be starving on this plan.  My goal is to drop 20 pounds, but I'll be happy with whatever comes off.  It's been a long winter and it's time to fit in those summer clothes.  Stay tuned!

Happy Valentines Day!

Analyze, improvise, adapt and overcome!

The Marines have this great saying - Analyze, improvise, adapt and overcome.  Talk about a thought process that applied to everyday life!

One of the biggest issues that women face has we hit our 40s is that our hormones change.  And when they change, it can significantly affect our weight and the way our body processes fat.  The pounds pack on, you still workout, but zippo.... the scale doesn't move and you get frustrated as all get out.

The trick I've learned in addition to healthy eating is upping your cardio. Where 25-30 minutes used to cut it in our 20s and 30s, now you need to commit to 45 minutes of carido several times week.  How do you fit that in your schedule on top of doing your regular workout?  Analyze, improve adapt and overcome!

If my days goes perfect, I get up early and plan for a good 60-90 minutes of workout time.  In the not perfect world, I either knock off the weight training in the morning with P90X or CEX and then before dinner I slip in a quick 20 minutes of cardio.  You just MAKE time.  If you want to see those inches burn away, you've got to put in the extra work when the 40s roll in.  And, the good news, is that as your body adjusts and recalibrates, it gets easier.

So stick with it, make the time and OVERCOME!

Just keeping pushing play....

I was SO excited when I got P90X2 just before Christmas and dove into it immediately and LOVED IT!  Then the old tweak in my back started to hurt again and that rotator cuff was aching.  DARN IT!  That being said, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!  Instead of pushing it, I stayed smart and dialed it back.  I've been working on my core and my back and lightened the load on my shoulders and it's working!  With a mix of P90X, TurboFire and some Zumba I've stuck with it and am rebuilding strength and am having a lot of fun in the process.  I am so looking forward to getting back to P90X2 some time in the future, but in the meantime, I'll keep pushing play!!!

P90X2 Begins!

Merry Christmas to ME!!!!  Santa and his reindeer (aka - FedEx) delivered my P90X2 last week and my immediate reaction was - oh crap, am I up for this?!  After a very slow fall of working out due to my back injury I wondered whether I would be ready...

One word - MODIFY!

Day 1: CoreX2 was awesome!  I have to admit I was not a fan of Core in P90X, but I love this workout with the addition of the stability ball.  FUN!

Day 2: Plyocide scared me, but when I got into it and realized I could modify the moves, I started having fun.  I was a pile of sweat and damp clothes at the end, but it felt so good.

Day 3: Recover and Mobility - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!  I love the fact that you don't have to wait until the end of the week to stretch.  Excellent "change up" in givng your initial sore muscles a little breathing room before moving on. And that nubby roller is THE BOMB!

Day 4: Stay tuned for the upper body report tomorrow!

Thank you Beachbody and Tony - this is a great program so far!
