Finally a Coach!

Well, as of Monday, April 30, 2012, I finally became a Beachbody Coach! I'm still going through everything and learning as much as I can about the business and how to best promote the product and the company. There really is no better way than to say, I know it works if you make it work. Beachbody sells a large variety of fitness DVDs, supplements, and accessories to people wanting to get in shape and improve their overall health; however, I have always told people that I have encountered, it doesn't matter how much you pay for a gym membership, home fitness equipment, diet food, etc. it only works if you are dedicated enough to stick with it and make it work. I was a success story in July 2005, before Beachbody started selling most of the supplements they have on the market today. I was a success story without the use of Shakeology or anything else. I didn't use supplements throughout my fitness journey. I did it all on my own because I was determined and dedicated to myself. I currently workout 6 days a week in my gym at work and I'm going to begin to incorporate some of the Beachbody programs into my current schedule. That should definitely kick things up a notch for me. I have to say, my favorite so far is still P90X. I am thinking of doing Insanity for a while to see how I like it now that I'm healed up and ready to add some intensity to my workouts. That will start next week. I need to plan out what I'm going to do and when, and I'll be ready to go. Let's do this!

Week 3 of ChaLean Extreme

Burn Circuit 2 today.  The weight is steadily decreasing.  I increased weights this week and am really looking forward to starting the Push Phase.  Diet seems to be under control now and I'm getting my water in and taking my supplements.

M1 - 3 hard boiled medium size eggs; 1 small blood orange
M2 - 1.5 c. pumpkin pie flavored protein pudding
M3 - 4 oz. salmon; 1 c. green beans
M4 - 8 oz. protein shake made with 8 oz. skim milk, 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1 Tbsp. peanut butter
M5 - dinner...not planned yet

I have been including Wii fitness activities into my daily routine at least 3 times a week.  More if possible.  It seems to be helping to get the weight to come down.  It's been a while since I have been able to be back into this routine and consistenly eat clean and workout.  I am finally seeing the weight dropping and will be seeing changes again before long.  I can't wait to be back in my size 12 jeans and then work toward size 10 and hopefully size 8.

Final Stretch of Week 2 of ChaLean Extreme

Today's workout is Burn it Off and Extreme Abs.  I am excited to get some cardio in.  I have been throwing in Wii Fit and Wii Active activities as well and will be doing some of the Wii Sports too.  I find that exercise doesn't seem like exercise when you're having fun and doing something that you enjoy.  Even though I had one day this week where I had to deviate from the schedule due to a stomach bug, I got back on track and got the workouts in.  I just skipped one of the rest days from this week.  That's the wonderful thing about having an extra rest day with this program.

Now that I'm into a good pattern with the workouts and increasing my water, my next step is to get my diet under control.  When I'm working out and taking my supplements, I don't want to waste my efforts by not eating right so I know I'm going to look and feel so much better when I get my diet back on track.  I was a success story once before and I will be again.  You can bet your bootay on it!

New Year New Me

Today will be week 2 day 2 of ChaLean.  I tried to start on the program before Christmas, but that just didn't go over very well.  So, I decided to put it aside, enjoy the holidays and get back at it after Christmas.  So, the day after Cristmas I started up again.  The weight and measurements are still the same so no need to repost those.

I hope that ChaLean will give me the results that P90X gave me back 4 years ago.  I was loving how I was looking and feeling so it's time to get back to that point.  I am going to continue to read and research nutrition and fitness information to enhance my knowledge of the subject.  I have a few goals for this new year that I need to write down.

1 - To make healthier food choices and be active by doing something for at least 30 minutes daily.  I have a Wii and the Wii Fit and Wii Active games, as well as others that I can do for fun, but are still some type of activity.  Also, I plan to start walking on the days when the weather is decent.
2 - I want to be a better role model for my children, my family and my friends.  I want to promote health and fitness in everyone around me.
3 - I plan to finish a second master's degree this year.
4 - I will be at my goal weight by my birthday in October.

It will take a lot of hard work, dedication, determination and discipline to achieve my fitness goals, but I have the support of my husband, my family and friends to keep me going.

I got my workout, Burn Circuit 1, in early today since we had company this evening.  I usually work out in the evening, but I am making it a habit that I will get my workouts in daily, no excuses.  When I first started Beachbody workout programs (Slim in 6), I did whatever it took to make sure I got my workout in each day and if someone interrupted my workout or messed up my schedule, I was NOT happy.  I want to go back to being that determined and dedicated to my routine that nothing will get in the way of my workouts.  I am currently working out with plantar faciitis.  I have worked out with a strained rotator cuff and a near broken ankle (I was on crutches and in a brace for a few weeks).  That didn't stop me then, so a slight case of a sore foot is NOT going to stop me now.  I will be happy with myself, I will be confident with my figure and I will have fun at the beach in September and not have to worry about covering all of my fat rolls.

Fresh Start

I'm not a very good blogger, but I am going to try to start doing more and gathering more information that will not only be helpful to me in my fitness endeavors, but also to others.

I have kinda gotten to a point where I am almost where I started in March 2004, so I have decided to make it a fresh start with a new Beachbody workout.  I borrowed ChaLean Extreme from a friend and started on December 2.  I took measurements and weighed yesterday and took pictures today.  I am posting these for accountability.  I am not happy with the outcome, but that will change.  Surprisingly though, my measurements are seriously lower than my original start measurements.  So to see how much change I ultimately made and kept off, here are my original measurements and my current measurements.

March 1, 2004

Weight - 232
Waist - 45.5"
Hips - 47"
Chest - 49"
Right Arm - 13.5"
Left Arm - 13.5"
Right Thigh - 26.5"
Left Thigh - 26.5"
Body Fat % - 40%

December 2, 2009

Weight - 223
Waist - 39.5"
Hips - 45.5"
Chest - 47"
Right Arm - 11.75"
Left Arm - 11.75"
Right Thigh - 24"
Left Thigh - 24"
Body Fat % - 31%

My goal is not so much as weight loss but of fat loss.  I want to see smaller inches and my ultimate goal is to be 18% body fat.  I prefer to focus on the size, not the weight because as you can see, I may only be 9 lbs. lighter than I was in 2004, but the inches don't lie.  I also wear smaller clothes than I did then.  Mind you, not much smaller right now, but still smaller.  Here's to a great 90 days of ChaLean Extreme, EXTREME changes and a new me in a new year!
