INSANITY

After finishing P90X in less than stellar form, I am invigorated again and have started INSANITY.  After only 4 days, I am feeling a high degree of muscle soreness in my calves.  The workouts themselves are very intense and I find myself absolutely spent afterwards...but in a good way!  I really enjoy the workouts so far and am already considering how I can incorporate them into an extended exercise routine when I repeat P90X again as my primary program.

I also started performing select resistance routines from P90X.  I figure that I can do Phase 1 of P90X in conjunction with this first month of INSANITY.  I did Chest/Back on Monday.  I had intended to perform Shoulders/Arms yesterday, but was exhausted after work.  I will perform that routine on Friday.  I have also decided to omit the leg routine since I am feeling every movement during the course of the day after the INSANITY workouts.  The goal is to keep gaining even small amounts of muscle during this, primarily, cardio program.

Phase 2 Is In The Books!

Just finished Phase 2 of P90X and I am down another 12 lbs and have dropped 3 inches off my waist and 1 inch off my hips since the end of Phase 1. This brings my total weight loss to 26 lbs (in 8 weeks!) since starting P90X. Phase 3 will begin tomorrow and I am adding SHAKEOLOGY to my nutritional plan. I am excited to see what kind of changes I can achieve in Phase 3...BRING IT!

Phase 2 Recovery Week

2 days into my recovery week and I am excited about starting Phase 3 very shortly.  Although I have not seen as dramatic a decrease in overall weight as I did in Phase 1, Phase 2 seems to have added a bit of definition to my physique.  I have noticed that my pants are fitting more loosely and that my chest, arms, back and especially legs are significantly more "pumped".  This Sunday, I will take my Day 60 pictures and measurements to verify what I seem to be seeing.  I have heard others mention that Phase 3 is where the most significant changes in P90X occur, so I am hoping the same will be true for myself.
