Well, here I am, AGAIN coming back from a back injury. UGH!!!! I think I've finally figured out a few of the finer points of my condition, so I can hopefully avoid this in the future.
So...ankle weights are ok for working out, just not certain workouts. Certain moves in ARX seem to be fine - in truth, any move that's relatively straight. I think what did it this time was my doing Chalene's AbJam with ankle weights on. Lots of twisting, etc, and I enjoy that workout so much that I go for it 200%. Can you hear the danger music playing? *sigh* Me too - uh, yeah, NOW.
And furthermore, I'm thinking that I should really do all twisting moves slowly & carefully. Think Tony's "down & up for one...and down & up for two..." as opposed to Chalene's "Freestyle! What you got? Pump it baby!" As much as I love Tony, I have to admit that I have more fun doing TJ. I have to be a lot more careful, though. Dang it.
So...I'm going to try some pushups, weighted squats, and a little ab work today. Just enough to get some muscles working again and start to slowly rebuild. Slowly & carefully is SO not my thing. Dang it.
On the nutrition side, I'm FINALLY making progress! YES!! I've had NO bad carbs in a week, and I think I might just be getting a handle on this thing. Thank God. Since body fat composition is almost 100% nutrition, I've been seriously short-changing myself. It doesn't do a whole lot of good to get a really good workout in if you're hitting the BBQ chips and 7-up a couple of hours later. Shuggah is the devil.
Anyway, it's Monday morning here in the future. So, I'm off to get a bunch of schoolwork and errands done today.
Have a great week everyone!!
