You Are 'Extraordinary'!

God loves us! He cares about us! But like any good parent, He's not always pleased with us.

Like all parents we want to see the best for our kids. Our kids don't always do the things we know to be the right thing to do. Our kids, deep in their heart of hearts, really do want to please us with their actions, their friends, and their choices in life. But there are times when they just don't seem to get it right.  Parents ... you know what I mean!

We are God's kids.  From the time we are in the womb to the time we die ... while we are on this earth ... like any loving parent, our Heavenly Father wants to see the best for us.  Can you relate?

I've been reading 'Extraordinary' by John Bevere. He takes the reader through the journey of what it takes to please our Daddy - our Heavenly Dad!

Our Heavenly Father loves you ... He cares. He wants you to please Him. Treat your body right. Love your neighbors. Bless your enemies. Husbands - love your wives. Children (even us adults), honor your mother and father. And remember the one who made the relationship to your Heavenly Daddy possible - Jesus! Honor Him!

Love you guys!

Live with Intention ... Live with Purpose!

Part 2: Is My Parachute Open? - Just Enough!

Last month we talked about the power of creativity.  Personally, I'd love to stay with that topic a little bit longer. But we'll save that for another time.

From the book Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker, 17 Ways Rich People Think, I’ll present one nugget a week with… a following thought by yours truly. Here's nugget 2.

Rich people (How about abundance thinking people) play the money game to win.
Poor people (personally, I like scarcity thinking people) play the money game to not lose.

Have you ever wanted just enough money to pay off your monthly bills?  Or maybe you were a little bit better off and needed just enough money to not only cover the bills, but that upcoming vacation you've been planning on!  Does the phrase "just enough" make you feel comfortable or uncomfortable?  I mean ... even if you had more, what would you do with it?

Maybe you'd feed a hungry family that’s been suffering because of some unfortunate circumstances in their lives.  Or how about a family member lay up in the hospital but you find out later, their hit with a $450,000 medical bill they can't afford.  Need I say more? And these are the scenarios dealing with people in unfortunate circumstances that could have been helped ... but because of our just enough philosophy, we are compelled to hold back what we have earned because we only have enough ... just enough for us.  Sorry world - but not today!  I don't have it to give!  I only have "just enough".

Let’s take another scenario.  I like this one because I can identify with this! You're in a fine restaurant with your wife and you see something you'd like to try, BUT ... you see Market Price! What the heck is Market Price?  Whatever they tell you!  Simple as that. So you look for the next cheapest meal. Boo hoo!  Ever go to a car showroom and you see the car you've been eyeing from afar. You see it!  You smell it! You touch it! You sit in it! and then Whoa ... sticker shock sets in.  Or how about this ... you just purchased the house of your dreams and you have just enough to by some new furniture and window treatments and what do you find out ... the house has just been infested with termites and you have no termite warranty! Not only are you now stuck with the treatment but also the repairs and you find out the average cost is ... again ... just enough!  Oh well! There goes the new furniture and window treatments!

You're probably saying, so what in the world does this "Just Enough" philosophy have anything to do with my health and fitness? A lot!

How many of us give "just enough" to say "I did it!" Three things we fitness nuts hear all the time in P90X ... Modify, Modify and Modify!  Some of us have to modify longer than others.  But remember, as you get stronger, more flexible, more energetic and improved balance its time to step it up just a 1/4 of an inch more, one rep more, one extra minute. And how about abundance?  Have you noticed how much more energy you had after several days, even weeks after a workout? You're getting better ... you're getting better.

So, think abundance ... abundance of energy ... abundance of strength ... abundance of flexibility ... abundance of balance.  And you will never have "just enough" again!

God bless you and Bring It!

So why don't we have more? What's our society's philosophy about wealth, abundance,

Part 1: Is My Parachute Open?

Isn't it ridiculous the amount of money made by rich people ... or is it?

From the book Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker, 17 Ways Rich People Think, I’ll present one nugget a week with… a following thought by yours truly. Here's nugget 1.

1. Rich people believe, "I create my life." while poor people think "Life happens to me."

Before I get to my point on Creating A Life, let me share with you a page from my life to shed a little light on this..

I grew up around a smorgasbord of races and economic conditions. My dad was a hard working man while mom was Suzy Homemaker.  We lived a middle class lifestyle in one of Chicago's up and coming southern suburbia communities. My parents made sure we went to better than average schools. Our elementary education in that socio-economic environment ran from the 1st to the 6th grade.

Well, like many parents during the 60's they got caught up in the divorce trend, when pot, rock music and free "love" (and the  prof. was right ... there is NO free lunch ... nor "Free love"!) was on the rise. Wouldn't you know it, my parents bought into that hook, line and sinker. The Bible calls it the sins of the fathers. My dad's dad as well as my mom's dad had extra marital "affairs". The bible calls it "adultery".

I know ... I know!  You're wondering what in the world does all that have to do with Creating A Life vs Life Happens.  Well, I'll get to that in a minute. Let's finish the story.

After the divorce, my mom ended in up rehab for drugs and my dad was prevented through the legal system from seeing us. So the only place the state could put 8 young boys was a group home or foster care. We were blessed because we spent little less than 8 hours in a group home and were immediately placed in foster homes. Because foster homes had limits to the number of kids and age was also a factor, we were separated into different homes.  The homes we were placed in were located in the inner city and believe me, the families, the homes, communities and the schools we experienced were a far cry from the schools we were accustomed to.

NOW, here's the point behind the story.

You see the picture of me standing behind the Eiffel Tower? At that time in my life being bounced from foster home to foster home, going to Paris was the furthest thing from my mind. It took more than 15 years to wash the "Life happens to me" junk out of my head, and replace it ... maybe the best word is "Dilute" ... yeah, that's it ... to dilute. Its like have a cup of mud and taking a gallon of fresh rain water and pouring it into the cup until all you see is some residual of the mud that was once there.

I could have easily adopted the victim mentally, and I did for awhile, but that has changed.

So how did I change that? I read ... I read ... and I read. I shut off the idiot boxes (TV and Radio) and embraced a new habit - Reading!

What did I read? Being a follower of Jesus, I read Proverbs, the Psalms, and the great stories from the bible that gave me hope and inspiration.  I added to that Napoleon Hill's, Think and Grow Rich, Dale Carnegie's, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Paul Zane Pilzer's, God Wants You to Be Rich, Robert Kiyosaki's, Rich Dad Poor Dad and a host of others. I could say I was a slow reader and learner. After all ... why would it take me 15 years to read just a few books to get my mind right!

So, reach for higher ground. Ask for the Master's help. The bible says that God searches throughout the earth to find someone to show himself strong to. Ask for His help today.  He created you in His image and has given you special gifts for His marvelous work. And since we are ... notice the word, "created" in His image, do we not also possess that same ability to create?

Now, go and create you life!

Happy New Year! Its 2011!

Make your new year a new year!

A new year of getting fit ... eating healthy foods ... drinking more water ... taking vitamins and supplements ... and exercising - for real.

Fit4Life Pros and Team Beachbody want to help you do just that!

1. Exercise: Choose an exercise program thats right for you. How do you choose with so many to choose from? Thats where a good coach comes in to help you. A good coach will ask you some simple questions to help you choose the exercise program thats right for you.

2. Meal Plan: Choose a meal plan to fit your goal. WOWY Club Membership will help you. And if you need help with the Meal Plan Program, again, just talk to your Team Beachbody Coach.

3. Accountability: Make a commitment to being accountable to someone you know will stay on you, but will approach you with a sincere desire for your health and wellness. If you do not know anyone or feel comfortable with anyone, ask you Team Beachbody Coach to be your accountability partner. Your health goals are a journey and you want to succeed ... you want to end the trend you've been experiencing and you want to WIN!!!

4. Plan: For if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Plans can be annoying, cumbersome, and down right complicated. As a Team Beachbody Coach, I have experienced too many people who have an idea of a plan but fail miserably for the lack of the big word "WHY". So they lose motivation ... they lose sight ... they lose desire ... and they just fizzle and peter out! Ask your Team Beachbody Coach to assist you in your planning. They know what to do and how to do.  Why? You'll see why!

5. Communicate. Communication between you and your Team Beachbody Coach will give you the leverage you need to win. How many times have you stopped doing an exercise because it was too hard or you couldn't do it the first time? Or how about after several months of doing it your way, you still see the same old same old in the mirror with little or no positive results? Talk to your Team Beachbody Coach. They want to see you win.

6. Teach: Stephen Covey in his book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People says one of the best ways to learn is to teach. So teach. Become a Team Beachbody Coach. Show others how to win over the trend of poor health. Help others get fit. Talk to your Team Beachbody Coach about being a Coach. We'd love to have you on our team.

Well, happy new year and lets welcome in the new you!

God bless you!

Summer Is Coming...It Is Time To Pull Out Shorts and Flip Flops

SUMMER IS COMING....It Is Time To Pull Out The Shorts and Flip Flops!
A Message My Wife Shared With Her Team
Coach Dollmeshi'a {Fit4LifePros Doll}

*********************************************************************

Summer is just around the corner. Which means it will be time to pack up those comfy
sweaters, sweats and bring out the summer wardrobe. If the thought of pulling on a
T-shirt and a pair of shorts — much less a bathing suit — makes you cringe, take note
before you jump on the latest diet bandwagon. Yes, the habits of getting comfortable
in layers of clothing to keep warm during a blizzard of a winter, suddenly turned into
cover up clothing, to tried to ignore and hide gaining weight. Now you're anxious to
those unwanted pounds again. However, let's not give into dieting, but let us purpose
ourselves to make a habit of good exercise and more nutritious food choices. In other
words a healthier lifestyle change. In fact, Vonda Skinner Skelton shares
with us five common weight control myths and the facts you need to
make healthy choices for you and your family.

Myth 1: Eating certain foods (like grapefruit or cabbage soup) will
burn fat.
Truth: There is no food or product that can burn fat, block fat, or
flush fat out of the body.

"Concentrating on these foods may cause an initial weight loss
simply because you're taking in fewer calories, not because you're
specifically burning more fat than with other diets," says Dr.
Lawrence Cheskin, director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management
Center. "But the results are temporary. Once you resume eating
normally, the weight quickly returns."

Myth 2: Skipping meals is a good way to lose weight.
Truth: Most lean adults eat three balanced meals a day, beginning
with breakfast.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," says Carole
Lewis, national director of First Place health program and author of
The Divine Diet. "But most Americans are guilty of eating little or
no breakfast, followed by a large lunch and an even larger dinner. A
better choice would be to eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at
lunch, and a pauper at dinner."

A recent Harvard University study found that breakfast eaters are
nearly 50 percent less likely to be obese than those who skip the
morning meal. That's because eating breakfast, especially one with
whole grains and protein, helps maintain blood sugar, giving you the
energy you need to make it through the day. Plus, Lewis
notes, "skipping meals only leads to overeating later in the day."

Myth 3: You must avoid all sugar if you want to maintain a healthy
weight.
Truth: For most people, a small amount of sweets can be included in
a healthy food plan.

By eating only small servings of the sweet stuff, you can feed the
need for sugar without sabotaging your health. Keep a bag of
Hershey's Kisses™ in the refrigerator and treat yourself to one —
every day if you'd like. It's only 25 calories, but that melt-in-
your-mouth flavor feels like a real indulgence.

Just be careful. "Many overweight men and women are addicted to
sugar and find losing weight is much easier if they omit it most of
the time," Lewis says. "For the rest of us, a small dessert or piece
of candy keeps the sugar-craving at bay."

Myth 4: Low carb or low fat diets are the best way to lose weight.
Truth: The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced, portion-
controlled, well-rounded diet, including all food groups.

Proponents of fad diets would have you think that one food group is
inferior to another, or that one type of calorie is worse than
others. The truth is, a calorie is a calorie, and the only way to
lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in.

The key is to choose your carbs wisely. Avoid processed
carbohydrates, like refined sugar and flour, and concentrate on
whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. Even fats have a place
in a healthy diet.

Choose olive oil, canola oil, and other monounsaturated fats, and
limit fatty meats and trans fats — those often found in processed
breads, cookies, candy, and pastries.

"Any diet that eliminates one or more of the six food groups should
be considered a fad diet," Lewis says. She recommends balance
instead: a food plan that consists of 20 percent protein, 55 percent
complex carbohydrates, and 25 percent fat. She also adds that "all
food groups should be eaten in the proper amounts to build strong
cells, while allowing us to lose unwanted fat."

The key to healthy eating actually begins at the grocery store,
according to Lewis. Plan your meals and stock up on healthy snacks.

Myth 5: Losing weight is just a matter of will power.
Truth: Since we're spiritual people, caring for our physical bodies
is also spiritual matter.

While evangelical Christians are often good at abstaining from
unhealthy habits such as smoking or drugs, the majority of us don't
view eating as a "spiritual" issue. But in a letter to the
Christians in Corinth, the Apostle Paul wrote, "Do you know that
your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you
have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price;
therefore glorify God in your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Whether
we eat too much or too little of the right things, how we go about
eating is a spiritual matter.

"Trying to lose weight without bringing our spiritual side into
balance is much like being on one end of a seesaw without a
partner," Lewis says. "God is extremely interested in every facet of
our being, but only when we give Him first place in our life can He
make the changes that will last.

Don't fall for the myths. If you're trying to drop a few pounds,
start by losing the lies about dieting and holding onto the truth
about healthy eating.
And why not take the opportunity to start a fitness group within
your sphere of influence, be it the office or place of fellowship
(Church).
