Is Today for 1st Day of the Rest of Your Life?

Happy New Year!

So many people have resolved once again to get fit and healthy.  It has become cliche for every new year.  I teach Group Ex at a few local gyms and I see it every time. Parking lots are full, you can't get a spot in class, treadmills are busy. But come mid February or March, it starts to die down. People drop off they forget about their resolution and fall back into old habits

That is not you right?  This time you will stick with it. This time you will maintain a healthy lifestyle, this time once and for all you will make today the 1st day of the rest of your life!  No more excuses, no more fad diets. There is no turning back, because you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You can do this! If not for your family, do it for you. YOU ARE WORTH IT! Aren't you?

Consistency and Accountability Goes a Long Way!

I am on my 6 day of Asylum (for the 3rd time, had to start over) and I love it. How do I stay commited, my accountability partner Stan and Ally Ruth (force3fitness and allysfitness). The keep me accountable and the consistency so far is paying off. I feel stronger already, see definition in my chest, arms and back and well, hello, abs are defining as well!

If you are struggling with consistency, find an accountability partner. I would love to help you! I can't wait to see my results in 3 weeks. Let's do this together!

SUNDAY REST

When you have added a new workout program to your regime, it can be exciting! You start to feel stronger and you see the weight begin to drop.  Often times people will want to push harder thinking "I'll add extra workouts and exercise 7 days a week!"  The myth is if you workout for more hours, more days a week you can get to your goal faster. FALSE!

The reality is everyone needs to take a day of rest.  When we lift and train hard, essentially we are tearing and breaking down muscle. Your muscles need a day to repair and heal from vigous exercise and/or lifting. Without this rest period, the body can not repair and rebuild stronger leaner muscles and you tend to breakdown more muscle fibers by overtraining.

Not only do your muscles need a day off, so do you! Slow down and enjoy a day of rest. Read a book, play with your kids, take a leisurely walk, and get plenty of rest, sleep that is. The body spends a great about of time repairing and healing while you sleep. If you aren't getting enough sleep, you are still not allowing the body time to rejuvenate.

So, go take a nap on this beautiful Sunday!
