So, this last June I went to Idaho to visit and had the chance to watch a Ironman 70 triathlon. I was watching folks that were in their 60's and even 70's finish the race. I was telling a friend of mine standing next to me that I should be able to do this if they can.
I came home and decided, I'm going to do it. I did some reading online about them. And, I made my own Hybrid of P90X and Turbo Fire. I've added in swimming, running and biking everyday as well. I'm in to week 2. I have only missed a few of the goals that I've set out to do. I'm at about 90% on target though! I am completely proud of myself. While I may never actually do a triathlon, I am going to be in the best shape of my life! Going on 52 next month and feel better than I ever have in my entire life!
I did do one month of Insanity and my cardio is in better shape than I could have hoped for but I lost a lot of strength while doing it. So, this was my reason for switching it up. I still do Insanity from time to time. For instance, I run a Fit Club and we did it today. When I first started Insanity I couldn't even get thru a part of it. Today, I was able to finish the whole work out! Yay me!
I still have some belly and thighs to deal with but with the work out program that I have set for myself, it won't be long till it's all gone! This past month I dropped 3% body fat. I'm totally loving it! Oh, and I am in a bikini for the first time since I was in my teens!
