Frustrated but pushing through

Hello Everyone,

      Today after one week of being on Power 90 I decided to go ahead and move up to level 3-4.  The decision was based on the fact that I wasn't feeling any soreness after my workouts after the first one or two and I didn't feel like I was pushing myself enough.  I didn't want to get bored with the workouts.  My frustration is due to the fact that I was getting very winded on level 3-4 sculpt and I didn't complete the last circuit.  I think I may have just been having a day where I wasn't feeling it as much, but I also feel that I should have been able to complete the workout more easily.  Earlier in the year I was working out on P90X and Insanity and now I am struggling with Power 90.

     I think my diet may have something to do with this as well so I will be changing it up for the New Year. I haven't been eating horrible, but I haven't followed to nutrition program perfectly during the holiday season either.  I also have not been getting enough water intake.  I am going to eat better and increase my fluids and see how that does.  

     I have decided that I am going to end Power 90 one week early in order to start P90X a week early.  The reason that I have decided to do that is so I will finish P90X the week before our summer beach trip is planned instead of being on the last week of the program on vacation.

Power 90

Hello everyone,

     Today I completed my first day of Power 90.  I am starting over and I am beginning at the very beginning.  In my last blog, I gave a plan for success in 2011.  I gave a recommended book to read as well as giving instructions to begin with a program that you could stick to.  I have decided to do the EXACT instructions that I outlined in my plan beginning with Power 90 instead of P90X.  I am also taking Shakeology daily and I am reading Awaken The Giant Within again just to remember and rediscover some of the tips outlined in that book (Repetition is the mother of skill!). I plan on hitting P90X as soon as Power 90 is complete and by then Tony Horton's new workout program should be out to begin after P90X.  I have been on my Shakeology for about 2 weeks now and I feel great.  I am several chapters into my book and I have started my workout program before the New Year so I will be in full swing with a bit of a head start once January 1st is here.

     Some of you that know me may be wondering why I am doing Power 90 instead of P90X and thinking, "This guy is a soldier, I know he could do P90X".  I am doing it for a couple of reasons.  The first reason is that I injured my back earlier this year and I have been doing only physical therapy for a while and just finished it around Thanksgiving. I am out of shape for myself and I want to do a program that I know I can safely complete and get my body physically back to push it as hard as I can for P90X and beyond.  The second reason is I think that I can show people what great results can be attained with the Power 90; that you can be patient and still get results without going straight to one of the toughest programs and risk injury and the results of P90X can be even greater with a solid foundation built through Power 90.

     I hope that in 2011 I can be a great inspiration to many that wish to build a new life both physically and financially through the opportunities that Team Beachbody provides.

Workout Success in 2011

     Hello everyone.  Have you tried workouts like P90X or Insanity and stuck with them for a week or so and then finding that you are just "too busy" to keep up with the workouts.  Or maybe you tried them and decided that working out is just too hard and you lack the motivation to stay with it.  As I was thinking about this in my own life, I figured that I am most likely not the only person who has experienced these same issues.  I have come up with a few tips that may help a few of you out there stick to your goals in 2011 and create a new you!

     The first thing you need to do is change your mindset.  Everything we do in life is for one of two things, to obtain pleasure or to avoid pain.  A lot of people have linked more pain than pleasure to working out.  You must link pleasure to working out by focusing on the goals of how you want to look and feel.  A great first book to read for 2011 would be Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.  He discusses the above thoughts in detail and teaches how to effectively change your mindset to accomplish your goals.

      The second thing you need to do is if you are working out on a program such as P90X or Insanity and not sticking with it is get a different program.  If you are not sticking with these programs it could be because they are too difficult at your current fitness level.  Instead of doing P90X, go back and get Power 90 and work on it for 90 days.  If you've been unable to stick with Insanity, go back and get Hip Hop Abs and do it first.  Once you have completed those programs, then go back and do P90X or Insanity. The workout needs to be challenging but not so much that you do not look forward to working out.  Once you have completed Power 90 and Hip Hop Abs, you will have created the habit of working out and your body will be ready for the demands of P90X and Insanity.  In 6 months you will be amazed at how far you have gone!!  

     The third thing you need to do is get on Shakeology Home Direct.  This does two things.
