Your eating structure doesn’t change. You still eat every few hours while you’re awake. Each meal should have a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and fiber. And while you’re not eating as much food as you’d normally eat, your calorie-to-nutrient ratio is extremely high. This means that you shouldn’t restrict the actual nutrients you’re getting by too much, so activity can continue as normal.

HOW DO WE BALANCE THIS OUT??? Through Physical Fitness! I love it! We have individuals in POWER, serving as role models for Health and Wellness and this is something we can definitely pass on to our children. Being a PE teacher, I do understand that the youth will eat “junk” from time to time, even too much. As a role model in the Fitness field it is my job to make sure my PE students are able to minimize the unhealthy food (not totally eliminate it), understand the benefits of eating healthy also understand and participate in Exercise 30+ minutes a day. They also have to be educated on the potentially deadly effects of unhealthy eating and a sedentary lifestyle. (”Preventable Diseases”~ diabetes, Lung Disease, heart disease, stroke, cancer aka THE FATAL FIVE) The difficult part is getting the parents involved. It would be much easier if parents were teaching this “Balance” of Fitness and Nutrition at home. But…I do believe this “Balance” being modeled by the highest power in our country will help towards the education of our youth, as well as, their parents.
