It's been a long struggle with emotional eating, a struggle that has pushed my weight up to 188 pounds while working out consistently. Needless to say, there are some serious eating issues to have ended up 48 pounds overweight while working out 5-6 days a week consistently.
After reading Shrink Yourself: Break Free from Emotional Eating Forever by Roger Gould, I feel that I've gained a valuable understanding of myself that is helping me to literally break away from the emotional eating patterns that have kept me trapped. I'm still not perfect, but I am certainly much better now then I was pre-book and getting better every day. So far I've been able to trade my fried chicken, swiss cheese, and lettuce on wheat wrap for grilled chicken, no cheese, cucumbers and lettuce on wheat wrap. Baby steps, baby steps.
So my goals for March include:reducing the number of emotional eating episodes each week until there aren't any left, losing 4-8 pounds, drinking shakeology EVERY day, signing up one new coach, and working up to two workouts a day. Today was the first day I was able to fit in the extra workout, doing recharge this morning and a pilates workout this early evening, and so far 3/3 in the Shakeology department.
I also want to finish reading Goals! by Brian Tracy.
My overall goals for 2010 are: reach goal weight of 140, completely conquer my emotional eating, and reach a level of diamond coach (currently emerald). As sort of "sub" goals, I want to learn new active things by taking both rock climbing and belly dancing next semester, and just living a more active and healthy lifestyle.
Here's to a productive month and beyond!
