I finally got a bodybugg, and I love this thing! I used it for one of my Turbo Kick/Jam Classes yesterday and a Lift class I teach. For the Turbo Class, I burn 650 calories, and for the lift class after, I burned 400! Wow, over 1000 calories in 2 hours! Some people were surprised that I only burn 650 calories during Turbo, but, here is where things get interesting, I burned over 3000 calories the whole day. Even though most people suspected that I would burn over a 1000 calories just form Turbo, the best thing about it is how it increases my metabolism so I burn calories at a higher rate ALL day. So burning 3000 calories a day means that if I eat less than 3000 calories a day, I will lose weight. The normal recommended caloric intake is around 1500 for a woman of my size. But I am not trying to lose weight, I want to keep my weight the same! Alright, better get eating, huh!?
Another thing I realized from knowing how many calories I burn, is the importance of mixing up your workout! Doing something different makes your brain work harder, therefore making you burn extra calories. Our bodies get used to our workouts, so get out there and try something new! Constantly Push Yourself, not just in fitness, but personally as well, and results will shine through.
What am I going to do now? Probably some P90X with my fiance, its something new and different than what I normally do! And, of course, go teach my 2 Turbo Kick/Jam classes for today!
