Today is actually day 9 on my schedule and I will be bringing it with Plyometrics. I just wanted to give you an update on the last few days as my kids have been home on snow vacation and it hasn't been easy to write everday. In fact, now that I am past week 1 I will probably start updating only once a week or unless I have something worth mentioning.
Anyway, despite my 3 kids being home with me this past week, I still kept my commitment to my workouts. My first time doing Kenpo X was a lot of fun. I've been asked how it compares to Turbo and all I can really say is that it's not Turbo. It does have punches and kicks like Turbo, but the workout is more of a martial arts based format. Turbo is like kick boxing and dance that is done to music. Kenpo X reminds me of being in karate class like when I was a kid. Tony is the sensei and you are the student. The technique (punches, kicks and/or blocks) is demonstrated and then practiced and so on, but it is fast paced so you really burn a lot of calories. Next time I am going to add my weighted gloves for an extra burn!
The following day was a rest day, but I chose to do TurboFire Fire55EZ class because sometimes rest days are bad news for me and I can get off track easily.
I officially began week 2 yesterday, with the hardest workout Chest & Back. Extreme push-ups and pull-ups. Better to eat that frog at the beginning of the week anyway. Get it done and out of the way. Since complaining last week about how I didn't feel it, I decided this week to opt out of using the bands all together for pull-ups. I did assisted pull-ups all the way thru and used my dumbbells as push-up stands for push-ups to increase my range of motion and decrease the stress on my wrists. It took me almost 2hrs to get thru it, but I did it and boy, I AM feeling it today in my chest and back!! YAY!!
I still suck at decline and dive bomber push-ups. I can only do about 6 each! I hope I get better at these because they make me mad!!
