... there is a slight breeze a blowin' today... which makes sense since it is October in NY. Autumn. Winds.
Appropriate that this morning's car ride- which I thoroughly enjoy being alone for... ever find that when there's other peope in your car they suddenly start messing with the car stereo? Anyway...I do listen to some music (a college station) and occasionally drive in complete silence....ahhhh... but the cd holder in my visor is LOADED with audio material. Personal development, breathing exercises, motivational stuff, most of it is educational materials in one form or another- although I did discover my Annie Lennox cd - it made it's way into my car, empty cover explained.
"MEDUSA"... phenomenal stuff. But once again I digress.
Where did this start?
Windy day. For my listening pleasure this morning I had the opportunity to think about the "winds of opportunity". Winds in general; opportunity or misfortune... the winds blow the same on everyone. The discriminating factor is how we, as individuals, "set our sails". Which, in turn, determines to a significant degree how or if we struggle more than the other boat and also to some extent our destination.
The cool thing about similes or metaphors or pearls of wisdom or inspirational proverbs is that for the most part we can look at the words, relate to them, wonder why we didn't say it first since it makes so much dang sense and understand them just as much as if it was a philosophy we've lived with all along. I dunno, maybe it's just me.
If I repeat it often enough I'll start to believe I DID say it first!
