Update!

Recently I began to reflect on my past few months of workout struggles and I'm finally at a good place. I am eating clean, which makes me feel great and everytime I workout, I work hard. I read in a magazine that being fit is 80% what you eat, 10% genetics, and 10% exercise. I totally agree with this statement... you have to eat clean if you want to see results, or even begin to feel good about yourself. It's been a difficult week because it's senior week with lots of food and alcohol, but I'm proud of myself for only eating healthy items offered and I opted to have a couple of lower-calorie drinks on one night. One night will not kill me, but I cannot do an entire week of boozing and continue to feel good.

More is more.

I just started the Lean workouts and they are tough! These are the hardest ones yet! Today I decided to add a 20 minute bollywood workout video for fun and because I went out for ice cream with friends last night. I did get lowfat frozen yogurt (versus nonfat which has more sugar to replace the fat) with a mix-in, but it was a treat and I deserved it!

Getting to my goal

Lately the scale has been saying 115lb, but sometimes it still says 116lb, BUT because it says 115lb more I feel like I am on my way to accomplishing my January goal sooner than I thought (which was to lose 1 pound this month). Also, for some reason I'm craving sugar, sugar, sugar! Luckily, I have not caved into temptation, but its been difficult the last couple of days!

Ugh... sick

This is the first time I have been sick in almost a year. I always seem to catch a cold right after my semester ends and the stress level goes down (so does my immune system apparently). I clearly have not been able to work out, but thankfully today is the first day I feel okay enough to get some light exercise. I know in the past when I got sick I would drop the ball and think, "well, I'm sick so I'll just kind of eat whatever." Not this time! Even though I had this fog in my head that skewed my hunger judgement, I still ate healthy and even made a delicious chicken noodle soup made with whole wheat noodles. I can't believe how far I've come in my attitude, knowledge, and commitment regarding my health.

My goal is to be 115lb by the end of January. The scale has mainly stayed at 116, but on occasion it'll dip into 115. Ever since i start Chalean Extreme I've noticed more definition in my uppe body and my legs aren't so flabby. My only problem area is my abdomen, which is where I carry all my weight. My ultimate goal is to lose this because I know having fat around your middle creates a higher chance of heart problems in the future. I have a family history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol, so I'm trying all I can to beat the "curse" (almost there, I have high cholesterol from genetics).
